Very good day "in the money" today as I know you haven't posted SA results yet but, I see four wins there including a big payer.

I was wondering about your wagering strategy in terms of betting WPS on favs versus some other options.

FWIW...I usuallly go WP only when odds are under 7/2 and then WPS above that. I increase the WP (only) wagers a bit so I am wagering about the same amount on each race.

Continued success to you and thanks for the work. I plan to head out to Turf Paradise next Sunday and hope to get to Santa Anita for the first time this summer.

I usually bet wps if the field is 10 more. wp if the field is between 7-9, and win only on fields 6 or less.

I do play a lot of exotics....exactas, tri's, some doubles, p3-4-6......even with odds on winners, sometime the exotics are pretty good....

I sometimes get some flack for the low prices, but this is my hobby, not my job.......I have no control over the odds anyway.....the name of the game is to pick winners.......that's what I try to do...... :SIB

Thanks for the reply. That is an interesting angle re: how to bet based on the number of horses in the race but, it does make sense.

In my younger days I used to chase the big payoffs but, you learn the key is to be in the money and even a 2-1 winner is a ticket to cash.

I admire you skill and thanks for posting.

One of the best lines I heard from a REAL old-timer horseplayer was: "I never new anybody going bust while cashing tickers." Ain't that the truth.... LOL...
