One for tonight. Good luck

2001-2002 NHL Record: 47-61, -2513

Rangers PK +170 over ISLANDERS 300/510

Rangers have struggled in this nine game winless stretch due to poor offense, and it looked like they turned the corner on that in the loss at New Jersey. Fleury should be on the other side of Dvorak and Nedved, which should give a boost and create effectiveness on the level of the old "Czech line". Isles return home from a good west coast swing so they are in a big time fade position against a team that needs a win.

NYR

I absolutely agree with you on this play, Nick. I am taking this one as well. I think NYR are in a good spot having had 5 days to think about their 9 game losing streak. On the road, but close to home. Although I thought the line would be a little higher, I think the +170 is a good value. Isles have some defensive injuries, and their leading goal scorer Parrish is day to day with bruised ribs and is apparently doubtful tonight. Good luck to you on it.

I also like the OTT ML tonight. PHI is in much the same position that you describe for NYI. First game back from a road trip. It was a short one, but they have played 4 of their last 5 on the road. PHI played last night and really got handled by PIT. This is also their 3rd in 4 days. OTT is a fast and physical team that could expose what I think is a a tired PHI team (at least from what I saw watching them last night). So...risking a unit on each:

NYR (+170)
OTT (+155)

Good luck everyone.

I looked at Ottawa hard, too, but passed because Lalime has been soft lately and Cechmanek is just playing out of his mind. I expect the Sens to control play but I just worry about Philly getting the win based on goaltending.

if there is a price to play this lowly ranger team at, then at least you are playing here at +170 and not as faves at -180 or so. good luck tonight Nick

I agreed on the great value of the Rangers tonight. So I get off work and check the score...9 minutes in, 4-1 Islanders. Ouch...the over looks pretty good now huh?! I knew the Rangers sucked, but that is pathetic:eek:

I got home a while ago and turned it on on Center Ice. It was 1-0 Rangers. Had dinner, turned it back on and it is 4-1! Man, this is painful to watch. I know it is bad form to count your chickens early on a win, but when is too early to call a game a loss? Ouch!

I am stunned! And did any one see the last save Lalime made to keep that game 1-1 in OT. Wow!

Congrats, nice picking Nick and SJ. If it wasn't for Blackburn the game would have been over earlier for you, you had the game right.

The fans are sure finding out what Ottawa knew, Yashin is a stiff when it get's to crunch time.

Bad cappin by me not knowing Ossgood was out, won't be betting the Isles again, that's for sure.

Good luck again tomorrow guys :)
