Pitt/Fla come to mind quickly.

Pitt-they shoot FT at a terible clip, something like 303 our of 317 D1 schools, plus they generally play in the 60's. Upset candidate if they play a team that can score and has some size.

Fla--I've thought they were weak and soft all year and have no inside presence. They could be bumped by a slow down team with size.

No way Pitt will lose in first round. Pitt plays with a whole new intensity this time of year, this isnt the same team of the regular season now. As long as Brandin Knight and Chevy Troutman stay healthy Pitt will atleast make it to the Sweet 16.

History favors them winning but as a #3 seed they could face trouble with their injuries and poor FT shooting. They also don't strike me as a good outside shooting team and have played a very weak schedule.

no way Pit gets a #1 seed. Their RPI is too low and the non-conf SOS is horrible.

They should be a #3 but will probably get a #2.

number 1 seeds

number 1 seeds

Pittsburg is definately a number one seed with Oklahoma, Arizona and Kentucky.
Number 2's are Texas, Kansas, Marquette and Duke.
If Duke loses today they would be a number 3. Illinois would take their place if they win today and Duke loses.

Pitt will not be worse than a number two seed, but I expect them to get a number after the convincing wins in the Big East tournament and all of the loses by potential number one seeds. However, that is up to the selection commitee to decide.

Puke can fail at any time when the 3s are not falling for them.

Illinois looked a bit rough trying to close out a very mediocre Indiana squad.

An alum and huge Pitt fan weighing in from Pittsburgh. IMHO, and I recognize this is one mans opinion........

By the way Greed, that's PittsburgH, just funnin ya my friend, Anyway, I should begin by saying I lost a few $$$ going against Pitt vs. Provie, then BC, and fairly large last night against UConn. I am convinced, and a few $$$ shorter, this Pitt Team is mediocre at best.

Yes, the finished 21-4 (or close) and cruised through the Big LEAST, which it is, but if these guys face a team that can really shoot the or is not a adverse to busting them in the mouth they will lose. I think they Win two games in the dance AT BEST.

Clearly, IMHO, they do not deserve a #1 seed!!!! You must force them to learn they have to get out and play someone before the conference play begins and it should not be: Little SIsters of the Poor, the Arkansas Pine Bluff Girl Scouts, or Tampa Community College. If they would have played anyone with any strentgh at all in their first 10/12 games (and on the road) they would have at least 4 more "L".

Well, they didn't they have what they have, earned a spot to the dance, and won their conference tourney but clearly these guys ARE NOT #1 seed material and make a really delicious target for an aggressive #15 or #14 seed like maybe Weber State, Manhattan, Holy Cross (Ralph Willard to haunt his old club), and although maybe not seeded that low but clearly a round #2 opponent Central Michigan could/will expose the Panthers as a marginal club. As for Puke, Illy, Kentucky, even Florida, they beat bit by DD!

Don't get me wrong, I love the Panthers and will be pulling for them but they will not get my wallet althought with the "L's" described above they alreay snuck a little handful

There is no way Duke gets a 2 seed and Wake gets a 3. Let me rephrase that: there SHOULD BE NO WAY that happens. Wake won the regular season ACC title and split with Duke during the year. As much preferential treatment as Duke receives, that would be absurd.

Also I would think Marquette would be ahead of Xavier but I could be wrong about that.

You guys put way too much emphasis on these conf tourneys.

Do you really think the selection committee has scenarios and seeds based upon the outcome of all 8 teams today? The only one not in is Ohio State, should they win they are in and team x is out. That's it. Most teams fate and seeding have already been decided.

#1 seeds
kentucky/arizona/kansas/texas

(outside chance at OU but doubtful since they finished behind Kansas AND texas and lost twice to Texas in the regular season)

Pitt has NO CHANCE at a #1 seed. Believe me. They will be fortunate to grab a #2. Don't look at the rankings, they are worthless, look at their SOS and RPI...it really warrants a #3 seed.
