If you're like me, you have a drawer full of USB cables and,if you can't find one, you can always buy another on any street corner. Whenyou upgrade from an old phone to a new one, you can still use the same oldwires and charging plugs, because micro USB is a standard. In fact, theEuropean Union requires phone manufacturers to use micro USB for charging, because it reduces waste as users hold on to their old cables rather thantossing them in a landfill.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" />

Unfortunately, the iPhone 5 uses a proprietary connector itcalls "lightning" instead of standard micro USB, but gets around theEU regulation by offering an adapter. Why not just use micro USB like everyother company? Then you couldn't make a mint selling proprietary wires andmaking every iPhone 4S owner that upgrades buy new accessories, because olderiPhones had an even larger proprietary dock connector.

I know everyone tries real hard to justify their android purchase.......but here is the real deal......

1. The iPhone is for you IF you like......

Design
Ease of use
Graphics
Apps

2. An Android phone is for you if.....

You love to keep a large amount of data on your phone. As in data that exceeds 100 GB. Movies, music etc......

A large screen

That's it.

I have had many discussions with people holding an android in their hand saying apple sucks. When I ask them what model iPhone did they have, they always say - I've never owned an iPhone.

Nice.:sadwave:

Samsung Galaxy S III

Why I liked it......

SD card slot for expandable memory (wish apple did this)

Camera was ultra customizable in regards to settings, aperture etc....

I have always like responsive touch. Apple ain't got dat.

Why I don't......graphics suck. I hate their App Store. The settings are way easier to change and control on an Apple device. On the Samsung the settings are a chore to change and control.

Really, for me the fact that android app store sucks as bad as it does really is a deal killer for me.

I asked this in another iphone vs. android thread and didn't get an answer. Which one is a better work phone, editing documents or spreadsheets, etc.?

Surfing the web on the S3 is superior.

IMO the settings are very easy to change, there are multiple ways to do it. The best is how you can have set settings based on where you are. My settings automatically change when I'm in my car or office.

What sucks in the Android app store? I have a 4s in the house but find it feels like a phone I got rid of a few years ago. I don't use a ton of apps.

Also, Google voice is AWESOME.

Google voice is awesome. I agree.
I download apps everyday or at least average 5 to 7 a week.

I would say for editing documents.....probably android.

Well.....I don't know. Personally I do not fell that any phone on the market has a good grasp on ease if editing documents. I don't think they are there yet.

Using your phone to update a few cells in a spreadsheet is fine. Using your phone to update multiple cells in a 9 tab fiscal budget should best be left to a desktop/laptop.

a 9 tab fiscal budget is a bit of an extreme example. I'm talking about normal quick fly changes you would need to make, or viewing a 9 tab spreadsheet.

motorola razor maxx hd is far superior to the thunderbolt i just upgraded from. the battery lasts as long as my wife's iphone, my screen is larger, and i have no issues with the graphics or app store, both of which easily meet my needs.

I will say that my wife's iphone camera is much better than mine.

They are both great phones. Joker is right though, Google Play (the droid app store) is terrible. I know because I'm a Droid user. That's about the only downfall IMO. And for what it's worth, I believe HTC makes the best Droids. Yes, better than Samsung.

As someone who just switched to Iphone5 from multiple Android devices, I don't see me ever going back to Android.

I never got an Iphone because it didn't have turn by turn GPS and didn't have 4g. Now that Iphone has both of those I couldn't be happier with the switch. I knew my Droid phones left a lot to be desired, but I didn't know how much until I started using an Iphone5.
