For people who use systems when handicapping games, the Philly-Atlanta game presents itself with a system that is 100% against the spread since 1980. This system was published in Gambling Online magazine last year and the system is PLAY ON any rested home team in NFL playoffs if they lost ATS in their last game. They have produced a record of 28-9 ATS. If the home team has a .750> win percentage, the record goes to 19-3 ATS (81.8%) If the home teams opponent enters the game off a win of 7 or more points, the record is a perfect 10-0 SU and ATS, by an average win score of 34-12.

Philly lost its last game ATS to the New York Football Giants 10-7
Philly has a W/L record of 12-4 (.750)
Atlanta won its last game by 20

Take this for whats its worth and sooner or later every system will fail, but it is hard to argue with a system that is perfect over the last 22 years. Good Luck

an interesting stat but i dont think it holds this year..

this stat is picking the eagles, but it does not factor in the fact that their star player has been out for 12 weeks and his timing will be off..

just a thought..

Eagles should roll

Eagles should roll

I don't see Atlanta scoring more than 10-13 therefore I don't see them covering as the Eagles will get their 21-28.

If you saw what TB did to Vick (twice) - you need not even watch this game - more of the same here.

Eagles by double digits !

easy BIF - Philly only wishes they were as fast as TB D. Brooks can stay with Vick, but no one can for the eagles. The eagles secondary will be able to cover the receivers easily but vick will throw to crumpler and run around the slow philly linebackers

Falcons will score at least 2 touchdowns. And if Philly is up by just a touchdown late, Vick will tie the game. Seen it too many times this year.

this is my point.. yest philly has been winning without him.. why change??? philly has been working with a system that has been working for 7 weeks.. why phuk w/ a winning streak.. phillys entire offense has become accustomed to feelys play calling, ball count, and timing in the pass game..

throwing a QB in cold after 7 weeks off is very risky... not only will his timing be off but the entire O could miss a step or two..

thoughts?

I'm with Gibber on this one as I pointed out in a couple of other threads earlier this week.

Can't see Mcnabb coming in after the long layoff and being sharp, Vick is explosive, getting 7.5 points opens up a lot of backdoor possibilities, not to mention a very good chance of S/U win by Atl;)

This McNabb subject brings back very ill memories of the KC Chiefs in 1998 or 1999 I believe.

Chiefs have home field advantage for the entire playoffs. The 13-3 Chiefs finished a winning season with the little known Rich Gannon at QB. Elvis Grbac was on the sidelines the last few games of the season with an injury.

Good old Marty decides to start Grbac against the Broncos. Elvis is so rusty, he uses all his TO's by early in the 4th qtr. The clock runs out with the Chef's driving for the winning score.

Elway and company go on to become the World Champions.

KCWolf, please dont remind me....I was sick for a week after that game. That was our best shot at a Super Bowl win in years!!

Oh well.....I have to disagree with your connection to this game. Gannon I always thought was better (even back then) than Grbac. Grbac threw way too many damn interceptions. McNabb is no Grbac. I look for McNabb to be just as sharp as he was before he left. This isnt really a timing offense. GO EAGLES!

Gibber, one thing about systems like this is that it only takes into account what has happened in the past and doesn't factor in injuries, weather and things of this nature. So I have to agree with you on that point.

KC, I was at that game you were refering to and the Chiefs were driving towards the endzone where our seats are. That pussy Grbac was out of shape, plain and simple. He called two of those timeouts because he was sucking wind. You pay me 3-4 million a year and least I can do is make sure I don't get winded running to the sideline. That guy never had the eye of the tiger, he wasn't a winner and I knew when he went to Baltimore he would do no better.

I'm still taking Philly as I can't argue with 100% and I find it odd that the line is 7.5. I know there has been much discussion about about the lines the oddsmaker set, but doesn't it look like they are begging you take Atlanta and the 7.5 points after thumping GB last week. I see Philly by 10. Little do you know, I have tomorrow mornings paper in front of me right now.:D Good Luck in your play.

Rember it well KC. Living here in central Missouri, and long time chiefs fan, we knew who the better quarterback was. Now its raider MVP Rich Gannon and Elvis "who" Grbac. I think its obvious who the better qb is in Philly. If the Eagles would have beaten the Giants I think it would have been a harder decision, but since they lost I think you have to go with Mcnabb, rusty or not.:D

Agree, Elvis is not in the house.

Just had to re-live a painful experience, letting the NFL MVP Rich Gannon being forced to leave KC.

Philly coach said yesterday. Mc Nabb starts we will see how it goes. Yes if to rusty I will make change. Reid is smart enough to pull him early. Mean while Atl gets 14 points this week. Now can Philly get 24. Yup.
