The Mean Green Fighting Machine let a 14 point second half lead slip away and with it, their chance to make the Big Dance also slipped away. Wow. Too bad they just couldn't hang on. Turnovers and missed free throws hurt.
With 10 seconds left they were down by 2, the WK player missed the front end of a 1-and-1, but WK got the rebound and scored and game was over.
They were ahead 56-42 with about 12 minutes to go and got outscored 32 to 14 the rest of the way. I guess WK must have wanted it more. Hats off to the Hilltoppers on punching their miraculous ticket to the NCAA Tournament.
