I've sharpied so many scratches, circles, and numbers on my program, I can bearly make out anything on the three pages dedicated to the running of this race. Every year, no matter how much I try and handicap this race, I always look back after it's over and time and time again, it's the horses with the best byer figures that come out on top. I remember back in 08 stubmling across this one article saying to add the last 3 speed figures togeather for each horse in the race and the Winner would always be in the top 6. This year...

1. Super Saver 319
2. Sidney's Candy 316
3. Dublin 315
4. Lookin at Lucky 302
5. Ice Box 299
Line of David
Discreetly Mine
6. Mission Impazible 298
American Lion
Paddy O Prado
Noble's Promise

Now, on to the weather and track conditions...These are the ONLY horses that have had at least one start on the slop.

Super Saver, Stately Victor, Deans Kitten, Paddy O Prado, Devil May Care, HomeboyKris, Backtalk, Dublin, Discreetly Mine, Mission Impazible.

So, 5 of the 11 highest rated speed fig horses have been down this road before.

The one Im having a hard time with that hasn't shown much in the byer dept is Backtalk who is 2-2 both on the slop and at CD.

Anyway, at the end of the day, the two horses I have standing tall after all the different color sharpie marks in my program are...

Dublin & Super Saver

Gonna sleep on my thoughts and head out to the OTB bright and early to get a CLEAN forum and program, organize my thoughts, follow the track odd's movement and will post my final tickets around noon.

:mj06: Cheers to my good friend John Carver on his amazing victory in the Oaks!

Yes, an Oaks victory is awesome!

I bet Dublin at 19-1 during the last future pool. I hate the way he hung in the Arkansas Derby, and I have heard bad things since he has been at Louisville.

I was looking at some of your old info that you posted, and although I'm not a big speed figure guy, I find it very interesting that Jackson Bend and Sidney's Candy are the only two animals to sport triple digit Beyer numbers.

And remember when Jackson Bend was the talk of the town in early winter?

However, the more I look at this, the more I keep going back to Lookin' at Lucky. Gomez has ridden this horse like a circus clown the last two starts. He is too good of a rider to let that happen again, particularly when everyone thinks it will from down on the rail.

Good Luck Bud!

How can you like super saver and dublin and not like homeboykris he smoked em both. Granted this was 2009 but I think Dutrow knows what he is doing and is setting him up for a big race. I like the way he finishes and still seems to be going strong every race. With the fast past expect I think he has a great shot and just cant pass him up
