15* GAME OF THE YEAR
Ole Miss -8 over Miss St
A lot of people must believe heavily in trends, because that's the only thing that would have driven this spread down from 9.5 earlier in the week. I doubt seriously that all that money invested in MSU has come from any intimate knowledge of these two programs. Anyway, that has worked out well for me and other Rebel backers. Sure, the Bulldogs would love to spoil the Rebels' chance for a bowl game a second straight season, but wanting to and doing it are two different things. The Rebs want badly to go to a bowl and they will play as hard in this game as they have all year. Eli has recovered from the bump on his elbow against LSU, and practice reports have him throwing as good as new. State's freshmen will be good in time, probably for some other coach, but the fact remains that MSU starts 5 true freshmen, including DT, CB, and dog safety. That's not good news against a QB like Manning. Look for a huge game from the Rebel defense, who played like a true SEC defense holding LSU to 14 points in Baton Rouge. The bottom line is that Ole Miss simply has the better football team this year. Rebs win this one by double digits.
