A local bar sponsered a texas holdem tournament tonite. I have played in a few friendly boys games over the last year but never ventured out and played with people I did not know.
To make a long story short, I came in 2nd place and won $200. I have won 10x that amount in a week of gambling before but never got the rush i did tonite.
It was only 30 buck a man to get in and about 25 people entered. My stategy was to make sure I survived the 1st table by playing tight and only playing strong hole cards. When I got through that I made a big hand at the second table that carried me througnh to the final table. I was low man but doubled up back to back on a pair of 2 bluff and a strong A-K all in. I lasted to final 2 but he drew a straigth off the flop and beat my J's.
There was alot of bad players IMHO and I will try my luck again next week. There was 5-6 asain kids from a local college and they has all the chip shuffling tricks down but all tried to bluff their ass off.
