PJ12 this stock has been brought up a few times, and the merger which has been put off for longer than most people thought.

in most cases (industries) this probably would not go through, or should. however sat. radio faces strong competition, not just from radio, however wireless internet, and ipods.

some complaints are that they could raise their prices sharply, do not believe this will happen. If I pay for sat radio, want everything for 15 a month or less. all the shows, sports, ect.... (not to sound cheap...too late for that) however would not want to pay to much for sat radio, and there is some items would want not just half, ie. baseball, hockey, XM, NFL, NBA, College Sirius. plus other shows.

have an ipod that stores my enitire collection (well almost) and in 2 years wireless internet will be widespread, you will be able to get radio, shows through the internet, and even through your phone will be common place....

more people will probably sign up, I might, however the greatest benefit is that they will bid far less for properties...... saving them probably 40-50% in content costs.

thanks

What do you guys anticipate happening with each stock? Is a merger better for the higher priced stock (XMSR) or for Sirius?

I agree on the tough competition part selkirk. I think the deal will go through and I will sell the next pop. Got in @ 2.69, will be glad to get out with a few bucks made, I dont see this stock going anywhere near what it was in 2001.

I thought about that awhile back when I was deciding on which to buy. I gambled and played it safe with siri in case merger doesnt go through I felt they could survive and xmsr couldnt. Real gamble would be to dump siri and buy xmsr. It seems it would make more sense to sell one's SIRI and buy XMSR, which would mean you both buy more shares of SIRI in the merged company (because XMSR shares represent about a 15% discount off of SIRI shares, at the 4.6:1 merger rate -- assuming your stock commissions on selling and buying don't negate that 15% difference)
