I have 2 questions about NL Hold'em from what I watched on TV

1) On 'high stakes' monday night the rolled and 8th card. I know the guy was going for the flush, if both were a spade he won double, if one was a spade they split and if neither was he lost double.... I have never seen this option before, is it common?

Last night they called 86 diamonds 'suited connectors'... I thought suited connectors would be 56 diamond or 67 diamonds. Am I mistaken, or were they calling them wrong. I assume it is me, but I had never seen 68 connectors before

first question, in higher stakes games, sometimes when the money goes in they run it twice to reduce variance. nobody wins double. sometimes the whole board, sometimes just the turn and river. both players have to agree to doing this.

86 or anything missing one is a one-gaper. suited one gaper.

snoozer,

Bleeddodger is right with the running it twice and I think the player you were referring to was Erik Lindgren and Gus Hansen, they ran the river twice gus won the first and Erik the second. Some players don't like to run it twice, for instance, Barry Greenstein. It's actually a better bet for action players like Dodger said to reduce variance.

Blue,

The gapper thing is funny because Negranu always calls a gapper suited or two separate gapper suited "suited connectors" there really great hands and for those people playing no limit full or 6 handed you can bust really big hands with those "suited connectors"

Ok long first post. Hahhaahha. I'm a poker freak
