How can ISU be a dog at home and how can the Hawks be a td favorite agaisnt anyone?:142smilie

Every week that win over Iowa looks less and less impressive and you know Tech is gonna come into Ames and throw it all over the yard--think that line is a good one....Iowa by 7 over the Goofers? How bad does Vegas think they are to be an underdog to the Hawks? Can't see any value in either side--I'd lay up to 3 with Iowa, but need 10 or more to play the Golden Showers, er, Gophers, so El Paso for me....:mj07:

Techs not in a bad spot because of OU coming in. This is a game most in the Tech circle have been talking about since last year. It's a BIG game for them because State has handed it to them the last few years. They know they have to win this game. During the spring and over the summer when Tech players were interviewed they talked about this game. If anything the prep for this game will leave them in a bad spot next week and I'll be looking to fade them then.

Tech has struggled in the past with mobile qbs but this year they're playing much different. Yes, I know the competition so far has been low but they've done what they had to do in those game. In the past years those qbs on weak teams still put up big numbers vs. the Tech D. This year they haven't. Add to it that they've prepared for mobile qbs for the past two games and had a bye week and IMO you'll see a very ready Tech D. They have some serious speed at the LB spot and have a good rotation at D line right now. Art Kaufman has totally changed this defense. I'm not saying their as good as their ranking right now but I know for sure I can say it's the best Tech D in at least 10 years.

I think ISU is the right side here. Paul Rhoades is a helluva coach, ISU is at home, they have had an extra week to prepare for Tech, they're getting points and this is a very scrappy Cyclone team. Yes, Tech's defense does look better, but they've beaten Northwestern St, Texas St and New Mexico, which doesn't provide a good indicator yet of where they're at defensively. The defense does appear to be improved, but they need to prove it against better competition and on the road. Tubberville better have his team totally focused on ISU this Saturday, or they're going to have a two-game losing streak against them. It should be a great game to watch. :0074

I don't post sides but if I did this game -- ISU plus the pts at home, nite crowd (terrible sportsmanship fans here) would be in my consideration for a GOY type.
