Someone on this board posted the numbers for teams going UNDER when playing on zero days rest after coming off an overtime game. Since the beginning of the 2000-01 season, this angle has produced 24 unders and only 8 overs. Tuesday's qualifier? The LA Clippers. This total is already too high, and with this angle, should easily fall under the 206' number.

Valuist............

Valuist............

nice information BUT.....the team they play tomorrow night is the DALLAS MAVERICKS!

A rematch of Saturday night's 245 point game!!!!!!

It makes all the sense in the world that this one goes under and DROWNS a gaggle over players.

Good post of pertinent information. Good work! ez

I forgot about the rematch; that's great. I don't have exact numbers w/me, but I did a study on quick rematches, and came up with around 57-58% unders. I defined a quick rematch as either a) home and home; or b) at least one of the teams played no more than one other opponent between the 2 games. This qualifies. Like it even more.

good luck, sometimes i just dont think you can count these numbers with the dallas mavericks. i watch little pro hoops except for mavs games and well the tempo they set is almost second to none. now if la wants to slow it down well then you look good but at times it looks like dallas doesnt even mind giving up so many open looks b/c it creates such a high tempo game. i am just weary of playing mavs unders lately, but thanks for the angle, might make me reconsider any play on the over now...la also has huge matchup problems with nowitzki if odom is out...

finley may be back tonight i think......this would actually help the under as he shoots a low percentage and slows the game down......

good stuff guys

good stuff guys

This is making me rethink the over. Thanks ez for the heads up in the other thread. Now I will probably wait until the half before playing a total.

Freeze-any thoughts on the Warriors/Rockets total? I was looking at a first half over play. I'm thinking the line will be around 98-99 which is high, but Golden State is scoring and allowing a lot of points in the 1st half their last few games. The Rockets seem to have found their offense as well.

Im with freeze, if finley plays PLAY THE UNDER...the game is already a joke line and finley actually screws up there ball movement and will slow them down some the first game. Plus odds are hell be off and hes a good defender....he improves the under in everyway...if he doesnt play id stay off the total and take dallas -9.5.

Downright awful tip

Downright awful tip

I just wanted to point out that your figures (in the initial post) are all wrong.

I am a number cruncher, and I specialize in European lower soccer, and rarely tread into the world of tipping basketball. But I read your post with interest, and decided to check your numbers.

You said that since the beginning of the 2000-01 season these games - where one team in a match played yesterday, in an over-time game - were 24 and 8 in favor of the under.

Well, I just checked for this season. This season these games are going 12 and 11, with one a push if you got a good line. With most bookies that push was an over as well, making them for this season 12 unders and 12 overs.

I feel a little agreived at the posting of such complete nonsense stats, which some people actually believed for this game.

Leggyguy--

First learn to read before you post your own bull$hit. I quoted numbers Taipans had used in a thread from Jan. 22. The numbers (up to that point) were: 5-4 overs THIS SEASON.....but 8-23 o/u overall. You proceeded to quote numbers from this season. First, a trend can either help or unconfirm an earlier opinion; IT SHOULD NOT BE THE SOLE BASIS FOR A BET. Maybe you should go back to a Euro sport chat room and discuss what an exciting game soccer is.

Trends are just a tool.....

Trends are just a tool.....

they are not an end to the capp'n process.

Heck, the only winner I had last night was the LAC/Mavs OVER 102 2H.

Those who used the trend to wait on an OVER play were rewarded with the OVER at 203 for the game......instead of the 207/8 prior to tip.

At HT one could tell with the teams' shooting and pace of that game....just favored the OVER 2H.

Anytime I can get a 5 pt discount on a line.....I'll take it. Thanks to this trend...we got a bargin on the OVER play.

This trend was interesting and when used in the context of letting the game tip to see what materialized during 1H.......it actually shaved a significant number of points off the total you needed for an OVER cover last night.

Plus, you got to see 1H for how the game was being played and be aware of an injury, ejection, etc. that would prove a negative for an OVER.

One also got to see how Finley came out and his affect on the Mavs.......and I thought he had an outstanding game for the 1st game back.

All these factors pointed to an OVER for 2H.....and.......as it turned out......yes an OVER for the game no matter when ya played it!!!

Keep post'n 'em Valuist. ez

Glad you were able to cash Eztds. It wasn't my trend, but based on a study I did on OT going back a few years ago it showed an under bias like Taipans numbers.
