Help me here guys..... 3 x 8 = 24......kick the field goal and you STILL have to score 3 TD's......Glad they went for the MORAL victory......LMFAOOOOOOO....I bet they did that because they had less of a chance to get anyone hurt on a field goal.....OMG LMFAO

Flat embarrassing. I will never understand how that is acceptable

Either 1 of 2 things. No other explanation. Either the games are not being played on the square. OR there are a TON of overpaid Coaches who cant make a simple decision that most any Junior High coach would know.... I mean C'mon guys. this stuff doesn't add up. No way, No how.

Lots of coaches are more interested in keeping a score "respectable" than actually trying to win the game. This guy is waving the white flag with that field goal. You see this shit all the time.

RIIIIIIIIIIIIGHT.... Waving the white flag in the 3rd quarter. LMFAO.......These are Pro's right ??? IS this so everyone feels good about themselves and gets a trophy ? Professional players and coaches keeping a score "respectable" ? LMAO........Who will remember this score next week ? Can you tell me the score of the Super Bowl last year off the top of your head ? Can you tell me who played in the last 5 Super Bowls off the top of your head ? :142smilie ...."respectable" :142smilie

Sorry Rodger. I apologize for being disrespectful. I doesn't make sense to me and I see more and more every week of this bogus crap. I shouldn't act like a jerk to you. My bad.

I see what you are saying but you think players and coaches are being paid off in every game. If it was so widespread as you are suggesting, it would get leaked out eventually. JMO.

I like you purple man. And I dont want to come across as talking down to you in any way.Personally I think its leaked out all the time. By example. When I see some of the things that go on week in week out. What other explanation is there ? Im not even betting on NFL right now. Im just watching. Which tells me I have too much common sense to fire on the games like I did for years. Yesterday the Tennessee/Indy game was bought and paid for. I challenge anyone that will go back and watch that game in its entirety to say otherwise. Ive never had anyone come out in the horse racing industry, or WWF or MLB, or NBA come out and say the outcomes are being controlled. But there is alot of proof otherwise. By most estimates illegal gambling on the NFL is 10 fold what is done legally. I believe there is TOO much money involved for it to be straight. When politicians, CEO's and the Bernie Madoff's of this world are crooks, why would the NFL be immune. Organized crime is alive and well. I would say most everyone in this forum (and in this world) would take a piece of the pie if we had a chance. Ill be honest. I would. Give me the right info , from the right person and I could be debt free and living large. Just a game or two here and there......My question is if a game or two here and there is crooked. Then does that make them all crooked ?

Then the why the fuck do you watch it and or wager on it?

Just like everyone here. Like you . I like to gamble. Ive spent over 50 years doing it . Its taken me this long to see whats going on. You got a problem with that ? I know the politicians are lying and I know they are crooks. It doesnt keep me from voting or watching them lie during the debates. Basically we are all going to vote for a piece of shit.

Mj,

Cool if u believe this, but you start 5 threads every sunday/Monday , which shows you are 100% convinced...
I would agree with above, if you really believe this much that's its rigged, why in the world do u throw ur money away?

I am not nearly naive enough to believe big time organizations are not corrupt, but everygame like you assume is not possible..no chance....I played football at the collegiate level...I assure you coaches are not in on the fix....there is to much time/energy/effort put in by them....and to risk banishment for life if caught? No way man don't buy it....I laughed thinking of haurghbaugh doing it like u accused....do u see how intense he is....comeon man he loves this job he wouldn't risk it....

Refs???? Sure could see it, but even then I don't think it would be as prevelant as you think......

Just dnt wanna see you having heart attack over it bud.....if it is or if it isn't, don't let it get ya all worked up man...

Just pray ur on the right side..

P.S. as far as tonite, that fieldgoal was 100% about not gettin shut out....respect thing..

I hear ya man, down 24 ya need 3 tds and conversions, but they knew it was unliky....I assure u if it would've been 30-6, and the 24 point defecit woulda been not resulting in a shutout, they woulda went for it...

Gl to ya and hope ya are on the same side as the crooks

U r probably a smart guy....a smart guy would quit gambling on something if it was fixed....or if you are gonna continue gambling, accept that you believe it is "fixed" and quit stressing about it...

I'll buy into some of what mjb says... politics are fucked and people are complicit. Look at the recent USD hoops shaving scandal.

However:

1) basketball is the easiest sport for one guy to manipulate spreads
2) I view sports betting like I do poker: there's some shady stuff going on, but I still win at the end of the day (or at least, end of the year)

I can see a college kid living on ramen fixing a game for $5k. If you think that people who are making millions are ROUTINELY throwing games, you're totally fucking insane.

Like, to suggest that the late TD by the Lions last Monday is a fix. Well, that was one hell of a fix... they sure heightened the suspense by letting Stafford get lucky on 4th and 3 miles.

So, bottom line, I think mjb is right that people are conspiratorial and money driven, but c'mon, everything is NOT a fix.

I agree with MJB. There are just way too many odd things that go on every week in the NFL. I don't know public %'s but I find it very hard to believe that the Packers can destroy a good Texan team on the road and struggle against a Jax team on their 2nd straight road game. I had no $ on the Pack but it is still a head scratcher.

He kicked the field goal because he knew that they weren't going to sniff the end zone again and he didn't want to be shut out.

I was on the Cards and at first I just couldn't get it. But I really think my statement above is why he chose to kick it. What's more likely to happen after that 4th down play...Cards don't get in scoring position again or they do so 2 more times in the 4th quarter and convert the 2 pts all 3 times.

He did it to avoid being blanked. Still ridiculous, but I've got to think that was his reasoning.
