North Carolina over Nova ****** top play if I could..
Think the bubble bursts tonite for Jay Wright's boys.With Sumpter out who is there leading rebounder and 2nd highest scorer will hurt big time.With Sumpter playing Nova has a mismatch problem on the frontline.Throw on Rays shooting slump of 1-19 in the tourney.This is a guy who is there leading scorer avg 17 pts a game.Lets pretend he still is off.Thats Nova two top scorers.Of course Ray hopefully getrs his game back tonite.
Nova's quickness is negated tonite with the Heels.Foye,Nardi and Lowery are tough but going against McCants and Felton will be even tougher.
NC is more athletic,bigger,quicker, and can shoot from the perimeter.Inside with May and Williams they are no match for Frazier,Sheridan and Austin.Nova's frontline will have a tough time playing post defense.
But the key to this game will be NC's transition game.I see them kicking the ball out and running fast breaks and secondary breaks.
NC's frontline and perimeter game are so much better then Nova's.
I think it will be a 8-10 lead most of the way in the 2nd half and then NC pulls away with a 15 pt win or more.
Cuse fans will be cheering for Nova.Big East pride rules.But it won't matter.
Mich St over Dukies ***
Spartans defense slows down Riddick and co.Izzo is 0-4 vs Duke.Think with his depth they can tire the Duke starting 5.See waves of Spartans pressing Duke.Since Izzo started freshman pt gd Neitzel they have been on fire.Spartans will play 10 guys tonite.Think Riddick,Williams, and Ewing all need to play there "A" game.Not sure if they all can.
Kentucky over Utah ***
Bogut is so dominate.But Cats can throw some 6'10 kids that are quick at him.They have some frontline depth.Think KU gets its fast break going and are a little more athletic.Sparks needs to hit a couple tonite from downtown.
Wisky over NC St *
Slow the ball down.Pressure and contest the perimeter shooting of NC St.Slow Hodges down.Game is to close to call.Either team can win this.Small play.
