One for tonight. Good luck.
Edmonton +1/2 +185 over DETROIT 400/740
Oilers have outshot every opponent since the break but have gone just 2-3-1 in that time. Dallas won yesterday so this makes tonight a gigantic game to stay in reasonable playoff contention. Wings come off a bad loss and, interestingly, Detroit is just 0-2-1 this season coming off losses of 3 goals or more. I would expect Markannen to be in net. Detroit has struggled all year (comparitively) with teams that play an up-tempo, aggressive style and Edmonton is among the best at that style.
3/13 NHL Notes:
-Isles have looked absolutely super in two straight dominating wins. New Jersey comes home off a 1-3 trip but they looked great last time out. Arnott should be out for the Devils. Snow may start for the Isles.
-Wings come off a 5-1 loss and they are 0-2-1 this season after a 3+ goal loss. Oilers have outshot all six opponents since the break, but are only 2-3-1 in those games. Wings are still without McCarthy, and Poti is on the trading block for Edmonton.
-Flames continue a long road trip where their scoring has come to life, and Turek has given up 3 or less in each game. Panthers continue to play good hockey (1-0-1 since a long string of 1 goal losses) but how will Bure being rumored for trades affect them?
-Boston seems to have righted the ship with two straight wins, while New York has been great defensively with 3 points in their last 2. Lindros and Thorton are both listed day to day.
-Pens had played well in seven straight after the break until collapsing completely against Columbus. Anaheim is an enigma, as they looked awful coming out of the break but have a big win over New Jersey and a competitive performance against Ottawa in their last two.
-I keep hearing Tkachuk will return for the Blues, but who knows when? Weight remains out. Sharks have looked like their old dominant selves in three straight wins over quality teams. A win here would put San Jose 2 points back of Colorado for a #2 seed with a game in hand.
