I have lots of scoop on this. Mack may or may not suspend Griffin and Taylor but I doubt there will be charges. Griffin was wasted, asked for 5 bucks from a random guy and when told no he and taylor started acting tough. Conflincting accounts - someone claims Griffin had a gun.

"Victim" doesnt want to press charges, no blows thrown or anything.

The September incident is Michael Houston who has barely played this year and is already working on transferring.

Havent quite figured out the 4th player. One rumor is Billy Pittman, but original rumor is 2 DBs. Either way dont know where they fit in.

EDIT: Looks like 3 guys total. May have been another guy who may have been punched but he also is refusing to press charges or even talk to the police. No gun involved. The Houston incident apparently may involve a gun.

No gun in December incident it appears.

Sounds like probably no charges either.

Suspensions? Unknown, but some comments from mack yesterday now make sense and implication is those guys will not be playing Jan 4.

Sun,
Just saw on an ESPN release that three players (tatum, houston, wilkerson) are quiting the team and transferring. Any chance these are the players involved?

Yes on Houston - he never plays.

Wilkerson (a redshirt) isnt playing, mad a lack of pt, and rumor has it homesick and flunking out. Was a stud in HS though.

Tatum is the guy who got in Young's grill and punched out - leading to rumor awhile back that Young broke his hand.

Tatum was thus invited to leave. He never plays either.

How can Wilkerson be homesick if he lives a hour and a half away in S.A.? He has a TON of potential and I would love to see him on the field. He just needs to be patient and realize the talent thats ahead of him, but if he's having grade issues thats another thing.

What is Tatum's first name and what is his position? Any more detail on his altercation with VY?

Sketchy on Houston. Assault, brandished a gun, perhaps stolen. happened September 4, so gott wonder what took so long and why just now coming out. He sure isnt a plyer worth a coverup, so is really weird.

News in Austin claims ESPN is sending an army of folks to "report." Austin for a month has been calling ESPN "USCPN" and any objective person would probably have to agree.

Strange how Shelly "I live on campus at USC" Smith wasnt running stories on the alleged drug and rape charges earlier this year.

I feel bad for Mack Brown and Texas fans. This couldn't happen at a worse time. I do find it hard to believe the Texas justice system will file charges against these players and hurt Texas chances in the Rose Bowl. My guess is it won't happen. Based on that, Brown prob. won't suspend the players. Maybe they don't deserve suspension. I dunno. Young did tell the media his teamates were "gangstas."

The way I see it, IF these players are suspended, it evens the playing field for the Rose Bowl. Texas will not be at disadvantage.

USC lost their #1 DB to suspension (ectasy pills in dorm room), #3 DB to season ending knee injury, #1 nickleback to season ending knee injury, #1 DT to grades, and lost only returning starter LB to season ending shoulder injury. USC also lost their #3, #4, #5 and #6 RB's to season ending injuries.

NO QUESTION if these Texas players get suspended, it evens out the playing field. USC has been on the short end all year with key players lost.

Evens out the playing field?? :mj07:

According to all of you cocky, overconfident SC fans I thought the Trojans were by far so superior to Texas and Texas has no chance since USC is head and shoulders the better team, so for you to say this is laughable.

I said it evens the playing field and I explained why. I never talked about who will win.

For example, if Young got injured, it wouldn't be a level playing field unless Leinart was out too. Maybe Texas still wins without young, but I am just talking about level playing field.

Right now it is not a level playing field between USC and Texas since USC is a lot more banged up. Not talking about who will win. Just level playing field. If Texas suspends these players, it evens things out a bit. Get it? Makes logical sense. Everything I posted is true.
