Overnight Leans:

NL

Marlins +112 (List Beckett/Coggin)... 3* ... actually not so much a lean cause I will definitely be playing this one. I absolutely love rookie P Josh Beckett. Coggin was not bad at the end of the year but I'll take beckett to stifle my Phils today.

D'Backs -250 (List Johnson/Neugebauer) ... I know it's a lot of juice but the Brew Crew won yesterday and I don't think Neugebauer can match Johnson ... could be a blowout ... may even lay 1.5 runs)

AL

Indians ?170 (List Colon/Cornejo) ? Indians are the far superior team and have the far superior though inconsistent pitcher.

Rangers/Angels over 11.5 ? Irabu is enough of a reason to play this over in Texas and although I think Ortiz is decent ? the Rangers hitters are due to break out and I think it?s here.

Back later with today's official selections?

4/6 MLB Lightning Strikes

4/6 MLB Lightning Strikes

***ALL PITCHERS LISTED***

NL
Reds ?130 ? 2* ? play based more on the team than the pitchers here.

Cubs ?170 ? 2* ? who is this Fogg guy pitching for the Pirates ? likely a guy who should be starting the season in the minors but made the team out of necessity.

Marlins +112 ? 3* ... actually not so much a lean cause I will definitely be playing this one. I absolutely love rookie P Josh Beckett. Coggin was not bad at the end of the year but I'll take beckett to stifle my Phils today.

Padres +135 ? 2* ? Jarvis pitched a very solid game opening day but was shutout by RJ ? he is good enough to end the Giants season-starting win streak.

D'Backs ?1.5 -156 ? 2* ... I know it's a lot of juice but the Brew Crew won yesterday and I don't think Neugebauer can match Johnson ... could be a blowout ... may even lay 1.5 runs)

AL
Indians ?170 ? 2* ? Indians are the far superior team and have the far superior though inconsistent pitcher.

Rangers/Angels over 11 -115 ? 2* ? Irabu is enough of a reason to play this over in Texas and although I think Ortiz is decent ? the Rangers hitters are due to break out and I think it?s here.

Parlay:
Cubs-170/D'Backs-231/Indians-170/WhiteSox-170
1* for 4.67* units

Good Luck!

Thanks KC ... If I have one major weakness is gambling in general ... it's that I play too many damn games but I still never play just to have action on somethinig. Actually, I often pass on betting major sporting events like the Superbowl, NFL playoffs, etc...

Mets/Braves

Mets/Braves

NIEM ... I have seen a lot of people on the Braves ... not too many on the Mets. I am passing on the game myself although I would lean Braves to win, I would rather take the juice and play the Mets cause D'Amico was always a real solid pitcher (when healthy) for the Brewers. I used to love playing him as a dog for the Brew Crew in past years.

Good Luck whatever you decide.

Adding:

Okay NIEM ... I talked myself into it although a small play.

NL
Mets +145 ... 1* ... As stated above ... D'Amico (when healthy) was always solid for the Brewers as I used to take him as a dog often in past years ... now he is playing with the Mets so I think he could be solid again if he can stay injury-free.

AL
A's +123 ... 2* ... You will not see Mulder getting this much back often so I'll take it although Garcia is good too ... thought about the under but the way bullpens have been blowing things, I'll stick with the dog.

Good Luck!

What I've Learned Today

What I've Learned Today

Cubs/Pirates
#1) P Fogg for Pirates may be able to pitch as he spanked the Cubs today. Then again, at the moment, the Cubs are hitting like S**T. They have been the team so far this year who has been killing me. I believe I have played on them 3x as a fav and lost all of them. Maybe a good go against until they are hitting.
#2) If the wind is blowing in at Wrigley (which is more often the case), play the under every damn time.

Reds/Brewers
#1) The Reds stink... PERIOD. Primadonna Griffey Jr. might as well retire as he has become more or less an average ML player since leaving Seattle which I honestly am enjoying. I would enjoy the same thing happening to greedy A-Rod but that is NOT going to happen so I won't hold my breath.

Brewers and Pirates will always fight hard as will the Phillies. May get good value with these 3 teams this year.

General
Playing medium to big favs all the time will probably get my ass kicked simply cause of the juice so I generally will not play them as more than a 2* play but I will often play small favs and dogs for 3* or 4*. Big dogs I usually play for 2* if I really think they can win and 1* if I am taking a shot at value.

I am usually very good on over/unders, however, this year I have been pathetic.

GOOD LUCK!

I agree with you on D'Amico. He has made me great money in the past since he is underrated when he is healthy. I remember one stretch last season I believe where he just couldn't lose & most of that stretch he was a dog until the public caught up with him.

I wanted to take the Mets tonight but didn't call it in as I got caught up in something.

You are right on there ... there was a couple week stretch where D'Amico was pitching awesome. Had an ERA under 2.00 and plain dominating. Then, as usual, he got injured and barely pitched the rest of the year. As a Phillies fan, I did not like the Mets acquiring him cause I know how good he can be if he stays healthy.

Good Luck!

i totally agree with you guys and D'Amico....
luved him until he got injured....

my play against his was on the theory that atlanta would come back after getting bitch slapped in game one...

great bullpen work by atlanta to blow the game in the ninth....

anyone for atlanta on SUNDAY....?
BRAVES hit lefties very well at home last year....

or maybe the UNDER?

I am not one to play a "better" team just cause I don't think they will get swept by a "lesser" team. However, if I like the P matchup and odds ... I do think it can be a good play. I know many people are going to jump on the Cubs -205 tomorrow wit Leiber going cause they think the Pirates can't sweep them but the way the Cubs are hitting ... all Villone has to do is keep them in the game and they have a shot to steal a sweep.

As for the Braves ... they are an overnight dog with Damian Moss going against Al Leiter. In this game, I think we are getting great odds on the Mets with "ace" or at least #1 starter Leiter going against the Braves #5 guy for that particular reason. I will likely go with the Mets -125.

Other early leans:
Expos +108 ... Vasquez who I really like facing washed up Joey Hamilton and the over-rated Reds. I think by tomorrow this line will have changed with the Expos favored and I agree 100%.

Astros -132 ... Wade Miller got ripped in the opener but I think he will come back strong tomorrow vs. the Cards.

Twins -133 ... Always liked P Brad Radke but I am hoping the price comes down before I make a decision. Twins will never lose due to lack of effort or fundamental baseball.

A's +112 ... Tim Hudson, a stud pitcher, vs. Jamie Moyer, a crafty veteran who overachieved and won 20 last year. Not this year Mr . Moyer. I am all over Hudson and the A's although both teams are quite good.

That's all I got for now ... till tomorrow.............
