Tourney: 29-42 -$1,510
Played both games late Sunday, and heading outta town today through the weekend---had a couple chances to get to green and the SEC kicked my ass (mainly, Auburn)---only 3 games left, and we'll be forced into taking SEC at least once...
Auburn +2.5 5500/5000
OK, I've converted---well, not really---Auburn was the so-called "best team" in the country for most of the year (played and beat the most "other best/good teams", passed the eye test, so on, so forth), so hopefully they can forgive me for saying they "peaked" a month ago---when maybe in reality they just got bored with being "the best"---if they are focused (which it's the final4 AND you're playing a team that has beaten you recently AND that team just so happens to be in your conference AND that makes them a pseudo-rivalry), then moto should not be an issue---Auburn has prided itself on 3-pt defense this year---and they will NEED it, here, in order to move on---Clayton and the rest of the Gator guard contingency is great, so again, the moto for Auburn's guards should be next level to attempt at stopping/beating them---and I see them doing it, somewhat---the Gators have shown some grit coming from behind in the tourney to win not 1, but probably 2 games that they more than likely "should" have lost---it ends, here, and Bruce Pearl will dance into Monday night...
Duke -4.5 5500/5000
There really aren't many (any?) teams that can match up well with Duke---for the reasons I loved the matchup against Bama, I see opposite yet equal reasons to love this matchup, too---Houston's best (only?) chance in this one is to make this as physical as possible (UFC, anyone?), and I have no doubt they will---but outside of taking Flagg and/or more out, even that won't be enough---I'm more worried about the Cougars offense than their defense, here, as they can go LONG stretches without buckets---Kudos to Sampson---his teams are getting better, and I do think eventually he'll break through and grab a title---just not this year.
My totals are close, so no plays, but twist my arm I'd go UNDER in Auburn, and OVER in Duke, games.
GL All!
