I've been wanting college football to adopt the 40-second clock for over a decade now.

Can someone tell these announcers that there is almost no difference in the play clock??? Its just way more consistent now.

I'm so tired of hearing guys (like Rod Gilmore today) keep saying how teams are adjusting to way less time and how sometimes its 25 and sometimes its 40 but forget that it takes the ref approximately 15 to spot it...

All they've done is taken the human equation out of it...

Please, Lord, Someone explain this rule to every announcer. There is no significant difference.

Every game I have to hear how the team running out the clock has an advantage with the new rule. If anything, its a slight disadvantage by a few seconds. My god, is it that difficult to grasp?

Not to mention, today, I've heard a couple announcers talk about some "new rule" where they start the clock after spotting the ball after a first down. Yeah that rule is pretty new...implemented around 1940 I guess....
