Best Bet hasn't been posted in a couple of days do to having another life. Posted Season Total -115. Tonight we look at:
Mets @ Padres
I think we have things in place for an over 8? here tonight. Now I know neither team is a batting machine with a team ba of .240 between them. And being 18th and 24th in the league in runs scored. But we do have Steve Trachsel on the mound for the Mets. In his 2 starts last year againts San Deigo. He lasted a total of 6.3 innings for an ERA of 18.47. A side note on Steve, he has pitched 6 games out of 8 with a total of 3 runs or less in those games.
For the Padres we have Jason Middlebrooks ERA of 5.13 from AAA Portland on our side.
Also on our side is a middle of the road ump in Derryl Cousins. When looking closely at Derryl stats, we find that in 3 of the 4 Mets road games. The games have gone over the closing totals. And 2 of the Padres home games have gone over as well, in which he's behind the plate. Thus making this our Best Bet play:
Mets/Padres over 8? -105
