1-0, +540 yesterday

I just want to take a moment to remember Owen Hart, one of my favorite professional wrestlers, who tragically passed two years ago today.

MILWAUKEE +140 over St. Louis 300/420

Morris has been red hot but he generally keeps it around 100 pitches. With this Brewers lineup in a hitter-friendly park, that could mean a relatively short outing for him. Rigdon has pitched adequately, if unspectacularly. What has been spectacular is the Brewers' pen and with the Cardinal bats cooling recently, the Brewers are the play here.

I hate to be the fly in the ointment here, but a couple of points. As for the STL bats cooling off their averaging 6.4 rpg lst 7, and the bullpen behind Morris has been a sparkling 0.45 ERA. The 'pen behind Rigdon has been an average 4.37 ERA. That and the basic pedigree difernece between the starters, I must respectfully disagree. STL -145, if I may be so bold

I too agree with that Vegas guy...

I like Matt Morris ( followed him over the last 3 or so years...)as he has given up 2 runs or less in 8 straight starts. His first start being in Colorado where he gave up 6 runs ( but who doesn't???).

Rigdon in his last 3 home starts has only pitched 11 innings and given up 11 runs.

But the stats agree with you other guys as
Milwaukee tend to play better at home after winning the first game of a series.

Should be fun to watch though.

I go away to watch a soccer game and look what happens. All these replies and my damned cable company lost the ESPN2 feed right before the damned penalty kicks were about to start.

As far as Morris goes, his last two starts were against two awful offensive teams, Pittsburgh and Chicago, and they weren't in Thriller Park. The guy still stays under 100 pitches most of the time and I can't imagine him staying under 100 for 7+ innings against the Brewers.

That last seven game statistic is deceiving as hell. They scored 8 and 12 in two of those vs. god awful Pittsburgh but were held to 4, 2, 3 and 0 in their last four against good Philly and Milwaukee staffs.

I wish you guys good luck in whatever you play but I just wanted to clarify my feelings on Morris and the Cardinals' recent offense.

Tad heart-stoppping tho

I had a rare 2-unit plunge on the under 2.5 goals; just about died when Valencia scored after 90 seconds but Canizares' first penalty save gave me hope and home she eventually came

Good discussion in this thread; obviously we all can't be winners on this game but GL to all anyway...

Nick,

Wanted to say thanks for the MILW write-up. I rode it with you.

Nice against-the-grain call.
