Early Leans

Early Leans

I have not played anything yet but these are my leans as of now. The reason I haven't pulled the trigger yet is that I happen to like a lot of juice and since I prefer not to play a lot of juice, I am trying to figure out some parlay alternatives using these games.

Cardinals -225 ... I really like them today to come up big with ace Morris on the hill but I am not yet sure I am willing to play this straight.

Dodgers -200 ... Rockies got them last night but I don't think they beat Perez today at LA ... Thomson was solid, especially at home earlier in the year, but has been nothing special lately.

Red Sox -170 ... If Castillo goes, I like the much better offensive team at home with Manny Ramirez returning to the lineup.

The following I am more likely to pull the trigger on straight.

Mets -130 ... Braves are hot but Lopez is making his first start in awhile and he has not been particularly good for them so far.

Padres +185 ... Ortiz not pitching that well lately and I think their is good value here at SD with rookie Pickford on the hill.

Orioles +165 ... Ponson has given the Yanks some trouble recently and Pettitte still not close to being in top form so I think we have some value here as well with another home dog.

A's -130 ... This is the game I may like best today other than the Cards. Seattle is not playing well while Oakland is extremely HOT. Baldwin has not pitched well in a while the A's Hudson is back to normal after a horrid 2-3 weeks in which he was big-time out of sync. Mariners not hitting at the moment while the A's are pounding the ball lately.

Back with official plays soon...

Actually, make the A's -130 ... 3* a play and get it in now cause the line may rise slightly by this evening.

Why did I cross off the Mets and add the Expos when all day long I looked at that game as one of those too easy sucker bets. I should have known better. Earlier in the day, I actually considered playing the Pirates cause it looked kinda low but I thought Giles might be out after leaving the team for a personal matter over the weekend.

Those are the type of losses I hate ... the ones in which I made a stupid dumb ass decision after reading too much.

Anyway, just a point to make. Stick with your gut instincts cause they are usually correct.
