One play for today in baseball. Good luck, all.

CLEVELAND -128 over Mets 400/313

Mets have a lineup that struggles against lefties and they face Finley, who has given up 0 earned runs in his last two starts and comes off a fabulous outing against the White Sox. Mets have failed to get double digit hits in their last 5 games (10 hits is a .270 average for the game) as their big boppers continue to struggle. Indians have won 6 of 10 and their offense has been better overall lately. Trachsel was roughed up in each of his last two outings and he is the type of pitcher that has had longer down cycles than just two games in the past.

Good luck today Nick.

Think you're on the right side in this one. I had a very strong lean towards the Tribe today. The only thing keeping my away is the 2 starts Finley made in the past with Rapuano as the home umpire. In those 2 starts, Finley walked 5 in 7 total innings. However, Finley is pitching the best he has all season, plus you throw in the fact the Mets don't draw to many walks....think you have the winner today.

Again, best of luck today :D

Thanks for the comment. Everything I look at to handicap a game points to Cleveland for me so I had to take a shot. Plus I noticed some line movement the other way with money coming in on New York and it seems that weekend steam is generally losing steam overall.

Nick...hope you don't mind my take on Bosco's comment about the tribe bullpen

I just feel if you 'capped this game, you gotta feel Finley is gonna go at least 7 innings today if not longer. True, Cleveland's bullpen is not in very good shape, but they have one VERY DOMINANT guy in Paul Shuey. This guy has been about as dominant a pitcher this season as you can be. He's only given up 2 earned runs all season in like 19 or something appearances and will likely pitch those late innings in this one. Wickman's been having elbow problems, but Shuey stands a good chance to finish the game off without sweating too much.

If Finley gets knocked out early, the Tribe's definately in trouble, but I just don't think you have to weigh in the bullpen as much in your capping when you expect the starter to go deep.
