Happy Independence Day to all. Two more chalk plays today as I am still having trouble picking out good dogs. Since both are small chalk I am playing "to win" instead of "to risk" today.
DETROIT -110 over Kansas City 440/400
Weaver has really struggled his last two times out. But the Tigers pen has been pitching well and they are relatively rested so I think he will get help if he struggles. KC is not a strong road team at all. Grimsley and Hernandez both had the day off yesterday but with their difficulty putting together offense the last two games it should not matter.
SAN DIEGO -110 over Colorado 440/400
It is a risk to bet Hitchcock in his first game back from injury but I will take it. The Colorado lineup has not been what you would expect during this 14 game malaise and their bullpen is very weak. Hitchcock is a really strong pitcher and he should be up for this game as his first one back playing at home.
