Ok a little writeup on the Arizona-Florida game. In this game I'm playing both the side & total but I love the total more. The picks are Arizona & the over.
Lets start with the side here. I'm liking Arizona here as it is more of a play against Brad Penny then anything else. I know Anderson hasn't pitched well lately but neither has Penny as the Marlins are 0-5 in his last 5 starts & he has been scorched for 24 runs in those 5 starts.
Honestly my big play on this game is the over as this line is absolutely ludicrous. All signs point to the over in this game. 2 pitchers in bad form, past trends as well as the umpire situation.
Lets start with the trends first. The last 5 meetings between these two teams have played over. The over is 5-1 in Arizona's last 6 on the road as well as the over being 8-4 in Anderson's starts on grass.
Secondly lets talk pitching here as I mentioned previously, we have two pitchers in bad form. Anderson is 1-2 in his last 3 starts with an 8.22 ERA, 1.57 WHIP & 7.0 ARA while all 3 games went over. His counterpart Brad Penny is 0-3 his last 3 starts with an ERA of 7.29, 1.57 WHIP & 7.3 ARA with 2 out of the 3 games going over.
Lastly the umpire situation, I'm loving the fact that Martin Foster is behind the plate today as he is 15-8 O/U this season with an average of 10.70 runs a game & 62.6 first call strike.
Also with him behind the plate, the home favorite between -125 & -140 is only 1-2. Lastly Arizona is 3-1 in games he umpires with 3 of them going over.
