Hudson Valley area.....NY
It was just 2 yrs ago that 54 people from my area didn't come home from work.Five firefighters from the town next to me that all belonged in the same chuch. One firefighter from my HS.
I like what former Mayor Guliana said yest.."moving on but never forgetting."

One image that I will always remember is the train station .
There were 6 cars that no one returned to that nite. These people got on the commuter train in the morning and never returned.
After several days the famlies of the missing commuters went to the station and picked up there cars.
But one family refused to pick up their car. They somehow believed their loved one would be found. And he would return on his own and drive home.

The car became a symbol as people every morning put flowers on it.Every few days the flowers were cleaned off only to find 100's more put on.
I would drive to work everyday and look over my shoulder to get a glimpse of the car. It was beautiful.
It was a symbol. For one yr they left that car there. On snowy days with no one in the parking lot you could see the the cars outline under the snow. It sat by itself.

Then one day the car was gone.I still think of that car driving to work.I wish they would of left it there.
But it's a nice memory for me and a reminder of what happened 2 yrs ago today.

Nice post Box.

I was sad for a big part of the day today. I watched the kids reading the names for about a hour and that was all I could do.

I didn't know anyone who lost their life in this horrible tragedy.
The enormity of the loss of humanity and the extent of grief and suffering is simply too much for me to comprehend. But yet, because I am human, I feel my life is eternally linked to everyone who died that day. The thoughts of that day are very humbling and make me very, very sad.
