A basic thought

Maybe we have discussed this elsewhere, probably have. In looking at the Republicans deciding not to push forward immigration reform during this election cycle, and our recent discussions about terrorism and protecting our country, etc...

Isn't illegal immigration a concern from a security/terrorism standpoint? Couldn't it be as simple as that? I am not talking about all of the illegal immigrants here now, although that is quite a thought, too. We are battered with the logic of fighting terrorism elsewhere so we don't have to fight it here on our soil. Then we see statistics saying thousands of illegals enter our country each week (or whatever the number/timeframe is). Are we to assume that the illegals are just people from Mexico coming across the border for whatever reason? Shouldn't the terrorists be smart enough to have some martyrs vacation for a week in Cozumel, then make their way up to the border, and set up shop in south Texas?

I dunno, this kind of took over my head on the drive home last night. Thoughts, anyone?

And by the way, this was not a political snipe about the Republicans dropping the issue, it's just something I was thinking about. Democrats certainly ain't runnin' with the topic, either.

You post a great question Chad. One I have thought of many times myself, as I am sure many others on here have. I think it just goes to show how serious the Government and The Media take this so called War Against Terrorism.
