A little Help Please DUKE/Va.

Duke 2-10 SU last year but 8-4 ATS Last year they had 4-ACC losses by 5-points or less including Virginia loss 27-22 ..one of many close and last second games. Duke has almost all starters returning this season.

I think 15 points is a gift, am I missing something?

From what I have read, Virginia is suppose to be a sleeper this year. QB Schaubb is a preety good playmaker. When I first saw they were playing I thought that the line would be like 20. the Cavs finshed the season strong last season winning 3 out of their last 4. I like Virginia in this one, but as a small play. Al Groh is 15-10 ATS at Virginia.

Anyone think they could lose this one? Thinking about throwing 6 dimes on them on the ML to pick up a quick dime..........does Duke stand any chance of an upset?

Butter, As you mention, Duke is returning almost ALL of last years starters,and I think they are a HUGE OVERLAY at this number,,
I shopped around and the best I could do is + 13 1/2
As I 'threaded' earlier, I have a large position ( 10 units) on the Blue Devils.. I think this is the type of team that does not attract the Public Money ,thus you are getting a little extra value on this play..
I certainly expect "us" to keep things close. I am 'shopping' around for a Money Line, just to put a small slice on . I ALWAYS believe ,if you are going to bet a dog ,you better believe that they can win the game OUTRIGHT..(and you should have a taste accordingly)..

duke is a well coached team, but there is a huge talent differential between these two teams. there is a wide range of possible outcomes to this game, but i don't think outright upset is one of them.

Loop, I mentioned earlier that I love Duke and rate them as a 10 UNIT play for ME...
All I'm saying is I make a SMALL wager on a side (plus 5to 1) in this spot,perhaps 1/2 unit or so.If the Devils cover the number,GREAT.
If they win outright (and I know it's a stretch) ,I grab a little extra.....Anything can happen(just ask Ohio St. last year)..

Even without their QB, they still smoked them. Duke really didn't play that bad, but you could see their offense wasn't the greatest.

the difference is depth in the trenches so you can keep your horses fresh without dropping off in talent level. you simply can't compete consistently at the big time level without it, and duke will probably never be able to reach that level.
