I know police officers, who for $30K/year are expected to answer 3AM domestic violence calls at a trailer park where there's likely to be a drunk redneck with a .30-'06. i know 95# school teachers who face classrooms full of punk young thugs.
These union folks and public servants do more difficult work for less money than I've done.
