I love the interaction on some of the games we've gone over the last 3-4 weeks. - so looking at games that may have some meaning this coming week.
Oregon @ Cal - two high scoring offenses, two bad defenses, although Ducks shut down U Wash. This line might be a bit inflated when it comes out, Cal lost away LY to Ducks 55-16, they'll probably be getting 7-8 pts here at Berkeley. 15 pt fav for Oregon?
S Carolina @ Auburn - Gamecocks played a cupcake, Furman yesterday, while Auburn had a bye week and saw ND lose, Baylor lose and Oklahoma lose, so they will likely move up in the poll, but they know that Miss St & Ole Miss are not fakes. Aub is 5-1 L6 ATS and last time played was in 2011. Auburn should be a 10 pt fav at home? Not the same S Car as in years past, but they are playing better, while Auburn is just chuggin along. 20 + pt fav for Auburn?
Miss St @ Kentucky - Really? This game has meaning? Well it could. Wildcats only lost away last yr 28-22 while getting 12 pts. How many will the books put on this one? State was off last wk and will probably retain #1 ranking. Could it be the kiss of death? Could the kids in Blue get the upset? Not how they played against LSU on Saturday. Miss St should be a 6-8 pt favorite? It might be much more inflated than that thanks to their stellar play and covering machine this year. 14-16 pt fav for Miss St?
Alabama @ Tennessee - Well Rocky Top got chewed up after their 3-0 lead vs Ole Miss and Worley bird looked like crap for the Vols. I think you call it, 'happy feet'! Bama off a huge home blowout win and guess what folks? Lane Kiffin gets reunited with the Vols home crowd!! WOAH! Bama will be at least a 13 pt favorite? Yikes. The way the Vols played Saturday, that line could be a bit higher. Bama by 14?
Michigan @ Michigan St - this game has meaning? Well it could!! Hoke will be graded on his teams' performance once again as they will be the rest of the year as David Brandon stated a couple weeks ago, MSU off blowout road win face a Wolverine team that shows up on occasion, better on the road than at home? WOW!! I never would have thought Michigan would be like this under HOKE but it's true, they are better on the rd, problem is, this game ain't that far away and State possesses a lot more future NFL players and are hungry to get to that Final 4 with only 1 losss this year. State didn't not play well the 2nd half vs Nebraska a couple weeks ago, but they turned it on vs Indiana, whose defense is a lot worse than Nebraska's but Indiana's "D" is worse than Michigans? State should be a 13 pt favorite? Ok, we'll see. 22 pt fav?
Mississippi @ LSU - will probably be the most hyped game of the week. LSU tries to knock off a Nat'l title contender!! Ole Miss may even be favored by 3 or more pts here? WOW!! When was the last time that happened? Can LSU pull the home upset? Or can we call it an upset if it does happen? Yeah, with all the hype that this game will get, LSU beating Ole Miss will be an upset. Wallace is probably the best QB LSU has faced, other than Dak Prescott, and the two Mississippi QBs are similar in some ways, but Wallace is a seasoned vet and LSU will key on him. Interesting game, can't wait to see what line Vegas puts out. Ole Miss fav by 6?
Ohio St @ Penn St - Buckeyes with only 1 loss folks, but it's to Va Tech who's fallen off the map of competitive programs, especially with the QB play of Brewer bringing down the Hokies. Penn St has had a week off to prepare after their melt down @ Michigan over a week ago. Does coach Frank have enough ammo to put it to the Buckeyes in Happy Valley? OSU will be favored of course, but my numbers come out to around 6-7 pts only? The mystique in playing at Happy Valley is worth some points? Probably a lil, but Barrett is playing a lot better than his first game vs the Hokies and he's in a zone along with the rest of the Buckeyes who are quietly under the radar and not getting much media press. If Ohio St loses this game, that will knock them out of the national picture for the final 4 and it would be a huge win for Penn St if they can pull it off at home. But if N'western can come into Happy Valley and shut down the Nittany Lions, Ohio State can roll by 2 or more tds. We shall see. Buckeyes fav by 8-9?
As always, any input is appreciated and welcome!!
Thanks!
