I got Houston at +750 for the series.....

Reynolds vs. Burkett favors Houston

Houston's lineup will relax away from hom and should play better. They need to get away from the negativity in this town -- just as it may be -- and have been a great road team all year.

Game 4 -- Maddux? vs. Oswalt......if oswalt returns to form, which he should -- got tight in the hammy in a cold weather town last time -- this matchup favors Houston once again.

Momentum could take this back to Houston and Miller vs. Glavine.....and if we get to this point, we have a lot of value in the play......

At +750 -- I think this is a solid play.....

I was just wondering how you figure Oswalt would have an advantage over Maddux if the series happens to get to the 4th game. Oswalt is a rookie who has never pitched in the postseason. I know you are from Houston but that makes no sense.

because Oswalt has nuts and Maddux hasn't won a game since who knows when.....

also because I know the Astros and believe me I am the biggest Astros basher there is....I was on the Braves for games 1&2 but I think the series is still very much alive....

Look how the Stros responded when in St. Louis...after a 6 game losing streak when similar things were going on here....they have adopted a "Us against Everyone" mentality and that includes the fans...and that makes them dangerous because they should come out loose -- and if they come out loose -- this series is up in the air because the Stros are a far better team and very capable of completing a 3 game sweep of the Braves.

The key word is "If" Oswalt is on his game....If he pitches like he did before his hammy got pulled, Stros got the edge....

At 3-1 odds, I probably wouldn't play this, but at +750? It is a great play IMO

I agree with Doc, at +750 it has a great value especially given the fact that the braves haven't played at their best when at home this year.

I have been a braves fan for a long long time and I know they played like shit in the regular season but I think they are getting their shit together at the right tme. IMO they have what you need to win a championship. They have great pitching, great defense, and timely hitting.

yeah I agree -- I am not "picking" against the Braves....in fact I bet on them for the first two games....but I am playing against them using the odds

Braves pitching is hot -- no one can hit glavine if he gets the calls he was getting Wednesday....BUT they are not the team they were years ago and are very beatable IMO....offense is starting to click, but the lineup has lots of holes in it

Actually, the hitting has not been so timely outside of Chippers shot. Julio Lugo has been the timely thing if anything.....if Vizcaino plays, this thing may be 1-1 or 2-0 the other way....

Also -- I hate how radio people are saying that Dierker is being "second guessed" when everyone groans when he has made the decisions as soon as he makes them. Our local was on the phone with people at the game during game 1 and EVERYONE was questioning why the heck Dotel was not in there....seeing him in Game 2 dominate, just made us sicker to our stomachs.....

I agree with you about Dierker, only a moron would have made the decision he did in game 1. I think if Dotel would have came in he would have shut the braves down, but since I'm a Braves fan I was very happy to see Mike Jackson in the game. Jackson is about as worthless as Steve Karsay. LOL

There's no way in the world you could favor Oswalt over Maddux. COuple with that Oswalt coming off the injury; pitchers off layoff of more than 10 days win about 39% of the time. Houston won't get my money that day.
