When I first started hangin' around (lurking) here one of the first things I read was by a member we haven't heard from in a while named Unholycow. He wrote a hillarious . . . yet get to the point . . . article called "Sports Betting in the New Millennium".

Yesterday there was some discussion about twenty cent lines as opposed to ten cent lines and it made me think about this article and go back and read it again.

For anyone seriously trying to beat baseball . . . especially if you are betting into a twenty cent line . . . this is a vital read. Plus, it will bring you to your knees with laughter.

Great stuff, and I enjoyed the other thread too re: luck even though I was on the wrong side of it yesterday. Also wanted to thank you and Antonio. I had a miserable day yesterday and really liked the Dodgers late but could not bring myself to pull the trigger after all the losses I had had during the day and early evening. Well, reading that you both liked it, combined with some of the line movement you were pointing out finally convinced me to take it. I was not surprised when I got up this morning and saw they had won. Of course, the day was still in negative units for me, but not as bad as it could have been.

I hope that I am not being vulgar quoting this old Chinese proverb. If so, I apologize. "Man who try to lay woman on hill... not on level". I think the same can be said for anyone playing a 20 cent line versus a 10 cent line. "Not on level".

You could also say that a twenty cent line certainly makes the hill twice as steep to climb.

I think CRIS and OLYMPIC have such a huge base of football and bucket customers that play their twnety cent lines out of "comfort" that they get away with it. It is kind of unbelievable that they are still dealing 20 cent action when stores like Pinnacle are dealing 8 cent action and nearly everyone else is ten . . . 15 at the most.
