sorry I don't usually use this site for anything other than sports, but I recently was approached by a kinda good buddy of mine who is working for primerica. without going on and on about it, i wondered if any of you can give me any insight about personal experiences with the company. I have attempted some half-assed research on the net, but there are a lot of mixed reviews out there. if anyone can help, much appreciated.

Don't do it. I also was approached by Primerica and had a sales assistant who worked there for a short time. Firstly, they only sponsor you to take your series 6, not series 7, which is what you need to buy and sell stock. Secondly, they don't pay you at all to study for the tests, or even your study materials.

Their whole goal is to get a potential client to cosolidate all of their debt in a high interest loan(of course through Citibank), and then invest the difference in payments in mutual funds.

Most of the people who work for Primerica do it on the side or part-time, and have no clue about investments. There are too many good reputable firms out there who will give you a chance to do it the right way.

What do you have a degree in or college at all?

doughboy,
thanks for the heads-up
I have over a hundred hours at a 4 year university, but no degree. I gave up school to pursue a career in real estate. I am 23 but own 6 single family homes (thanks to dad). Thus, I think I was a nice target for my friend, since I essentially have mortgage loans for a half mil. He hasn't pushed me much yet on the "come and work for me" thing, but I gave him a ton of my documents. Hope those are safe with him. I'm waiting for him to get back to me to see how much I can "save." The kicker to me is that he claims he's making 10 G's a month, works with all kinds of big dogs, and such. Seems like a sham.

Just be careful with your buddy. I would tell him thanks, but no thanks. If you need some ideas, let us know and we here can kick around some. Not sure what you want, but I am sure we can give you a little help maybe.
