UNC at Santa Clara
I wanted to catch this line when it came out to get a good jump on it. I had it figured between 18-20, at Pinnacle it opened at 15.5 and i hit it pretty hard. Here is my view on it, you can take it for what it's worth. The linemakers had to adjust the line because of the fact that Ray Felton has to sit this one out for an NCAA rules regulation. Honestly, I don't think it will have as much an impact on the game as the books think. Three guys will likely split time at the point; Melvin Scott, Quentin Thomas, and Wes Miller. Melvin will most likely get the start, he's a pretty good replacement but he tends to turn the ball over. Thomas or Miller will be fine as well, I just don't think it's a big deal linewise. Raymond wasn't much of a scoring threat last year and with the addition of freshman superstar Marvin Williams as long as Felton's replacement can hold onto the ball it will be fine.
I think with a new year under his belt Roy will probably have this team playing the type of defense he demands. Santa Clara got beat by New Mexico by 33 pts, granted it was on the road. I just think this line is wrong by a good amount. I expect the heels to come out and play tight d, show good shot selection and pull away as the game goes on. I usually tread lightly early in the season but I really feel like this line is off.
A little background on myself for new posters, I am a carolina grad student, have been in chapel hill for 9 years, live with an ex trainer who still hears daily about the program, and post mostly UNC games or ACC games, i have season tix and haven't missed a game in years so i have a pretty good feel for this team.
Play: Carolina -15.5 3units LOSS
YTD: 1-1 -2.2u
Good luck this season fellas :brows:
