does anyone know of a service, ideally a free one, that provides accurate odometer readings for used vehicles, of over 10 years?
i heard this from a friend: Vehicles over 10 years old are exempt from the federal odometer disclosure requirement. Therefore we make no guarantees of odometer accuracy on vehicles over 10 years old and will sell these vehicles as being NAM (Not Actual Mileage). sounds jargon enough to be true. if so, then how would one find and recount an accurate mileage on the vehicle--CARFAX the only option--others?
