...I thought you guys might find this amusing.

Nick Douglas: At this point I think I've voting for Arnie [Governator].

Hardcore Liberal Friend: What? He's a Republican.

ND: I know, but I think he's better than [Phil] Angelides.

HLF: Is that who he's running against?

ND: Yeah. Obviously you like him a lot.

HLF: Why would you vote for Arnie? He likes Bush.

ND: Arnie supports the entertainment industry, which drives L.A.'s economy. He's pro-environment, pro-abortion rights and pro-stem cell research. He's socially liberal and economically conservative.

The election isn't for a month and I haven't decided for sure. Tell me why I should vote against him.

HLF: (beat) I don't like his accent.

From what I can tell, that's the current case against the Governator. He likes Bush and we hate Bush, so we should hate the Governator. If this is what the Dems are running on in other parts of the country we're in trouble.

Yep, the Angelides commercials just show Arnie embracing Bush. ...I don't even think they show or talk about Angelides at all.

I'm with you on Arnold. He's much better than Davis was and looks better than Angelides now. He has been a defender of key state issues of mine. Democrats in this state have been too wasteful - I don't think they deserve the governorship back just yet.

I like a lot of what Arnie stands for now. I would most likely vote for him to. Why is it a Democrat or an independent can do this (vote for a republican)but people like weasal and DTB would never think of such a thing(voting for a democrat)?
