Couldn't decide what my play of the day would be; thought about the games some more and found a couple that I liked more than the others ... well ... one really.
Double up here, as I've got this at 8.5 +100:
Chisox@Giants under 9 -115
1.15/1
(beauty 2 out double by Brady Clark...thank-ya-now!
)
--Garland kept SF to 3, two days back, and Colon is sure a hell of a lot better than Garland; Giants have scored 4 or less in 6 of their last 10 (though only 1 of the past 5), and a look at the list of starters VS SF gives me the idea that Colon may be the toughest of the bunch...prev 10 vs SF(recent 1st):Buehrle(11),Garland(3),Cornejo(7),Maroth(7),Bonderman(5),Lohse(2),Radke(4),Mays(4),Chacon(1),Cook(4) -- 2 of the 4 with 5+ were vs lefties, whom the Giants have been hitting much better at least the past 2 seasons, while the better righties(Lohse,Chacon)have caused SF problems; Chisox have scored 4 or less in 7 of their past 10(going over vs J.Williams,O.Perez(L),and A.Good) while 2 of the 3 lefties faced have stoned them (Ishii(1),B.Anderson(2)). Rueter doesn't overpower, but is a smart pitcher with good control, which is the reason for his consistency with the low era.
yadda yadda yadda
Adding:
Chisox -130
1.3/1
--I look for Colon to give SF real headaches tonight, and the offensive advantage for the Giants should at least even out with both clubs hitting lefties much better, and SF using one tonight. Bottom line is Colon over Rueter (Giants BP edge, but Colon should go a full 7, or maybe 8, having thrown a very efficient complete game in his last--87 pitches! (64 for strikes)) and the home field advantage, where the Chisox stick around for SD comin' in, and SF hits a flight bound for KC.
Adding:
Mets -103
1.03/1
--recent thrashing by M's turned me off this game earlier, but M's have been smoking any lefty that moves. If Leiter has his good stuff tonight then this game should be no contest, what with Lewis going for Texas, the Mets bats really coming to life lately (scored 15 over their past 2 -- most trouble is vs lefties lately), Rangers' trouble vs lefties, the three key bats for Texas NEVER having faced Leiter, and Juan-Gon maybe sitting out again...you get the picture.
Adding:
Mariners -1.5 +120
1/1.2
--I see a number of people in here hopping on the over 8, which I was considering also. A high(er)-scoring game provides a better chance to cover the run-line, and I certainly would think the M's should be poised to dodge the sweep with the Braves heading into town next. M's had better bats BEFORE Guerrero got injured, and I believe that losing him is a major blow, also to their defense. I believe in the starter more, and the M's have the better bullpen, though Sasaki is where he was to start the season--the DL.
These are already in ... hope the Brewers can somehow save this 1-run lead!
