St. Pat's day I am flying out to Aruba. I have flown internationaly before and I'm not worried about terriorists or anything like that. I am worried about the casinos there. I hear they are ok, not great.

My fellow Madjackers if anyone has any knowledge about Aruba, it's Casinos or advice about my trip please post. I will be there for a full week and I need some ideas on things to do there.

Any help is appericated.

Thanks

I try to go every year. Have had some good luck in the casinos. They are small but not bad. The chrystal palace has a decent race and sports book, which will be good because you are there for the first two days of the tourney. I will post the restaurants we eat at. Trying to think of names. Where you staying?

Sounds like you may have pierced a ring in your nose Blazer, so the boss can lead you around. But I do know the feeling.

There are 13 casinos on the island so take your pick.

el goucho's is the best, make sure you make reservations. The all male review is a freaking riot(i forgot the name of the casino w/the show is, don't do the dinner, just the show.

Also do the guided jeep tour through depalm, it's cool and they take you snorkling on depalm island and it's incredible, the parrot fish are huge and everywhere.

At night they have a party boat that looks like a pirate ship that has a rope swing that let's you swing out into the drink.

Was there over Christmas and will go back....and back. Perfect weather and perfect beaches.

Casinos are small relative to those in Vegas. Those in the high-rise area are busier than those in the low-rise and seem to be fancier. I stayed in low-rise and prefer smaller crowds.

Two sports-books: one downtown and one in the Holiday Inn (high-rise section). Again, not like Vegas.

One poker room that I could find (also Holiday Inn) but stakes were quite high; minimum 10/20.

Rent a jeep and tour on your own. Driving one is a blast.

"Tourist" restaurants are good but very expensive. Get in your jeep and dine with the locals. Cheeper and very good.

If you can, do some shopping and have breakfast and lunch in your room.

The island is expensive but the people are great and I loved it!

I'm not an MTV crowd guy. But it's fun to ppl watch. I will be there for a week. So I guess I will need alot of things to do.

Smash (and others)- we are staying at Playa Linda? So I dunno what that means but that is where we are staying.

Scott- No Bull Ring my wife is "the boss" of the trip because she scheduled it.

Thnaks for all the advice, I will try out El Guacho. If you think of anything else let me know. Thanks again

Very, very nice. In the low-rise area; the area I prefer.

There is a casino attached, but I never went.

I stayed at La Cabana which is a 5-minute walk away. La Cabana is great. Where you are staying is better, so I am told. Unless you have kids, in which case there is more for them at La Cabana.

Enjoy.
