I only made it about 10 minutes into this video but it seems genuinely perfect for the high performing christian. No divorce, no gays, no porn, no gambling, no sex outside marriage.
Those are high ideals but if you guys can make it happen in your lives, more power to you.
Not sure I want those to be the rules for 300+ million Americans with a lot of different opinions about those subjects. It sounds more like some backwards Muslim/Sharia Law country to me <shrug>
Best of luck.

Hey Fek,

I realize you prefer the gay life style, but you mentioned "No divorce"....

Do you have any children? Grandchildren?

Hey Fek,

I don't have kids and don't really intend to. Coincidentally two male friends of mine just had a child via a surrogate, and are now raising a newborn infant. They seem well equip for the task, and I am sure the child will have a happy upbringing.

But I personally am a child of a traditional family; parents who have been married 40+ years! I think a stable, loving, and 2 parent household is ideal for raising kids. But I think the government should stay out of it. Specifically I don't think it is the job of government or society to shame the millions of citizens who didn't enjoy a typical 2 parent upbringing. The video (which I admittedly watched very little of) referenced some communist manifesto from the 1950's with goals to take America down by the things I referenced in my previous comment (porn, divorce, sex, gays etc).

Those are things, in my opinion, that free citizens should be free to decide for themselves. I also think those are things free minds generally gravitate towards legalizing. The only way to prevent them (if you see them as wrong) is by coercion by the government or region. The narrative of the video makes this natural inclination of humans for freedom out to be a conspiracy. And that is where it lost me. Also in those few minutes there was very little actual real "content" and most of it was just suggestive imagery, music and cut-scenes... and mostly inaccurate (in my opinion) assertions that this socialist movement started in the 1960's.

In actuality the single greatest push towards socialism in this country were the economic policies of FDR during and especially before WW2. And again I don't even think that was a conspiracy, I think it was a response to the Depression that the citizens clamored for. I don't personally agree with the government being involved in our pocketbooks any more than our bedrooms, but considering pretty much every single country in the world has elements of socialism, I just don't see it as a conspiracy.

First, thanks for taking the time to reply as you did.
I'm not a political junkie as many on this forum seem to be. I'm not looking for any politician to "save" me. I have a savior. His name is Jesus Christ.
I do vote. I'm concerned with two planks in a candidates platform, namely homosexuality and abortion and I'm opposed to both.
I do think the video makes a strong correlation between the inroads socialism has made in this country and identifying those responsible for its success. The chart around the 40 min mark seems to put their puzzle together in a rather convincing way.
From what i've read about the economic policies of FDR, he did what he could to jump start capitalism. Kinda' like an "Something is better than nothing" approach. This is a copy/paste from another site: John Carter, I'm old and I remember a lot of stuff / Written Apr 26, 2012 / Capitalism had failed spectacularly during the stock market crash and the subsequent depression. This wasn't the first time, nor as we have seen recently, it wouldn't be the last time capitalism failed so spectacularly. At the time, there was another new and competing economic philosophy gaining credibility around the word, Socialism (real Socialism where the government owned, operated and controlled whole industries).

Rather than adopt Socialist policies by having government take over critical industries, he simply spent a lot of tax payer money on temporary publicwork projects like building dams and roads. In doing so, he was able to bring capitalism back to life in the US. The money spent by the government and the public value it created, helped to jump start the capitalist system.

He also pushed forward a large volume of regulatory laws designed to prevent orsoften the kind of spectacular failures capitalism is prone to. It is interesting to note that it was when we gutted the regulation of the banks that began under Roosevelt that we began the march towards
Capitalism's latest implosion.

So, I'd say Roosevelt is rightly called the savior of Capitalism. Unrestrained, unregulated Capitalism results in endless boom and bust cycles that make a few people spectacularly rich at the expense of average citizens.
By controlling the worst excesses of Capitalism (sort of like damming araging river) we can make it work better for most people than it would otherwise.

Abortion I get. If you truly think it is murder, I can see why it would be litmus test for you. Huge issue.

But why homosexuality? Of all the evil in the world, crimes that are commuted, challenges we face. Why is homosexuality such a major concern for you? I don't doubt it is a sin, per Christianity, but why is it more important to you than other sins/vices? Greed, violence, cheating, rampant heterosexual adultery and sex outside of marriage, lying etc etc.

I certainly don't expect to change your mind on the sinfulness of homosexuality. But the focus on it does confuse me. Is it because Christians think it will bring about the end of civilization, more-so than other vices/sins?

If I was a practicing Christian anymore (lapsed Catholic, go ahead and roll your eyes!), I would want more specific information. Give me an exact list of sins in order of most serious to least serious, in god's eyes. Then people can work on the one's he hates the most. If such a priority system doesn't exist, I wouldn't know where to direct my outrage and align my political allegiances. I know I am kinda going off the reservation here, but if God was just a tad more specific, I could get more into religion. I think I have said this before, but the fact that I have rely on other sinners/cheater/liars to interpret god's will and communicate the rules is basically is where religion lost me. I want data, specifics, NEW information. Not 2000-6000 year old information that likely suffers from the same effects as a game of 'telephone' with a bunch of 10 year olds.

Not trying to burden you with my loss of faith in the system of Christianity, nor drag you down with me. I just so rarely think about religion anymore, relative to the large role it played in my life from 5-18 years old. So it occasionally grabs my attention.

OH and I agree there is a difference between FDRs socialism and what came about starting with LBJ and the Great Society. (though I'm no expert either.
I will maybe take a look at the entire video if I have a chance, but the target audience is firmly the angry, baby boomer suburban/rural middle class, a demographic I don't fit into, so the style of the video just turns me off. I will try to focus on the content if I do give it another try.
