"Most Wanted" firearms offenders on county website

The Allegheny County Sheriff's Office has published a "Most Wanted" Firearms Offenders list on its website in response to community outcry against gun violence.
Sheriff William Mullen called the list "a resource to help citizens recognize the criminals contributive to violence who are hiding in our communities."
The site features pictures, physical descriptions and the suspected locations of 37 fugitives wanted on firearms charges in the county.
The sheriff said he hopes citizens will share the list and report information about the suspects.
"Instances of gun violence can be the product of smaller crimes unfolding over time," Sheriff Mullen said.
"Not every criminal featured on the web page has pulled the trigger, but by illegally possessing firearms and disregarding firearms laws, they may become a factor in a gun falling into the hand that does."
The list is available at www.sheriffalleghenycounty.com/vufa_most_wanted.html.
Residents can submit tips via the Anonymous Interactive Tip Sheet on the sheriff's department website or contact the office's 24-hour hotline at (412) 350-4714.
