Hey guys, let's have some discussion on this game. I think I know who I want, but first I'd love to see your insights. Thanks.

Alabama is a beat up football team. So there are only 2 plays to me: lay off or UGA. However there is no way I will bet against my team.

Here are the people that could be affected by injuries:

-Brodie Croyle (QB)-seperated his non-throwing shoulder in the 1st half of the Ark game. He did not practice on Sunday. He took about 40% of the snaps on Wed and Thur. I think Pennington will start but it is up in the air.

-Justin Smiley (OL)--played last week after being out 2 weeks. He said in the paper that he is still not back up to speed.

-Dennis Alexander (OL)--ankle injurie that is still bothering him. He will play though. He played last week.

-Antown Odum (DE)--hurt his ankle last week late in the Ark game. He far and away our best DL player. It is unclear if he will play. He did practice the last 2 days. He says he will play. Shula alluded earlier in the week that it would be doubtful if he would play. He said the same thing about Pope

-Derrick Pope (LB)--hurt his knee last week. I tend to think that he will not be playing this week.

-Jeremy Clark (DT)--sat out last week because of shoulder injury. From the quotes and such in the paper, it seems he will be playing. If he does, he probably will not be at 100%

-Ahmad Childress (DT)--see Clark's comments. Pretty much the exact same thing.

All this adds up. The DL that could possibly be lost is HUGE. That is where the NCAA sanctions has really took its toll. We were very thin coming into the season and even thiner now. Not to mention if Brodie does not play, Pennington has not proven himself. He played well last week in the final 2 minutes of the half, but before that he looked horrible in the A-Day game under Price's system.

So this is why I say there are only 2 plays and betting on Bama is not one of them.

Hope this helps eveyone.

Hey Reb
Ga. may be the best in the SEC this year, they are at home, Bama is reeling, hurt, and on the road for the first time this year. Bama has 5 teams on schedule who have open dates prior to their game, it seems there is little going for them, but, as ole man Lee says,:nono: , not so fast my friend. Bama plus 12:eek:., VERY few times can I remember the Boys gettin double digits, and I ain't gonna miss the chance to play-em. I am a homer, but I've always tried to play with my head, not my heart, like last week, a no play, but I feel very strong that the Tide will cover at least and ya never know. Good luck. Buck

Hey Bama guys -- thanks for your input and info! Here's hoping for your sakes that the Tide at least gives them a good game!
