I don't see official confirmation, but roof will most certainly be closed for this one, Sunday, as Toronto is supposed to be getting rain showers starting sometime in the afternoon.
Umpire scheduled is Quinn Wolcott. Take my assessments with a grain of salt as Doug Eddings called a game in the series already and, other than maybe John Hirschbeck, Eddings used to have about the largest strike-zone known to man; an imposter must have been present, or else he's had a firm talking to, as he had a rather small zone. Regardless, Wolcott appears to have a small strike zone, much preferring the lower portion, similar to what we saw from Martin Hudson in game #5; not ideal for Jays' Yesavage.
I'm pulling for Blue Jays but can't touch the -123 I've seen. That's 55% implied and I could be talked into that, but not much higher. Yesavage is often high in the strike zone, with his over-the-top delivery, and the Mariners were patient against him in game #2, so they will likely lay off the high stuff. I don't know what to make of this guy, yet, but he's found some magic in 3 of his first 5 trips, looking grim in the other 2.
M's Gilbert might be the best on their staff. Certainly better than Miller and, arguably, better than Kirby. Jays hit him some, early, but I'm still surprised that Dan Wilson pulled him as early as he did. Gilbert only threw 58 pitches and should be able to provide length if warranted.
Total of 7.5 is beyond my pay grade. Jays too feast or famine. 1st5 under 4 if Yesavage finds magic. Under 7.5 if the game was only 7 innings long, but I'm not confident in the back end of either bullpen.
Emotional stake is all I'm in for. Just some thoughts.
I'll call 4-4 going to the 10th, just as Falcons pick off Mac Jones to end the 49ers comeback.
Never know.
Enjoy
