Ross McGowan to beat Scott Jamieson +150 @ Boyle Sports [also available @ Expekt]
Jamieson won three of his four matches last time out in the Vivendi Trophy, but still looked far from his best - he won his singles match against Pablo Larrazabal but was over-par in the process. That was just a continuation of the poor form that had resulted in missed cuts in his previous three starts. He has admitted that he had only played St Andrews once previously and only flew into Scotland on Monday from the U.S. where he had been spending time with his fiancee. I can't see him playing well tomorrow and McGowan, who finished 6th here two years ago, doesn't deserve this price.

Opposing the first round leader, Hoey. He did win the Madeira Island Open in May - a co-sanctioned event with the Challenge Tour - but otherwise his last top-30 finish was six months ago. Admittedly, he did lead this event two years ago after two rounds (though he has missed the cut on his two other appearances), but he struggled on that occasion with the lead and finished 19th. I'd expect a similar reaction today.

Opposing the second round leader even though he looks to be a great prospect for the future. He won on the Challenge Tour last month and finished 10th in the Austrian Open last week on the main Tour. But even though he will be playing on the main Tour next year - he currently leads the Challenge Tour Money List - leading a main Tour event is certainly new ground for Fleetwood and he will surely be under a lot of pressure tomorrow. Not so for Kruger who is safely within the cut line and seven shots off the pace, but this is a gap that can be overcome: he has finished 8th, 7th and 4th in the last three weeks.

With two top-10s in this event already and a strong showing at the Vivendi Seve Trophy and a 3rd place finish in his last two starts, it is no surprise that Donaldson is striking the ball well this week: he has hit 47 of 54 greens in regulation. He should continue his fine form for at least one more round and extend his perfect 11-0 record against Murray in 2011.
