two of the most imposing figures I ever saw.

Chamberlain I saw in person on Tuesday, Jan 10, 1967 All Star Game...COURTSIDE on Press Row...great story one of these days..required lying flat on my back in the nose bleed section of the Cow Palace before the building was opened to ticket holders for the game..

Ali on the big screen..close as I ever got..

When interviewed in later years, Wilt himself offered another explanation for his decision to withdraw from the fight. Chamberlain reminisced: "I remember leaving my place in L.A. and -- my father is a big fight fan -- and I said, `Dad, I got a couple of days off and I'm getting ready to go to Houston to sign to fight Muhammad Ali.'" His father told him he should work on his free throws instead.

"And I looked at my Dad and said, 'Well, Dad, you're probably right.

for those who loved the NBA either then or now here is the link to the boxscore.

"The Big O" and "Rick" were awesome that day..

There were nights when Rick Berry was far and away the best player in the NBA...

followed the Wariors then because of livin' in Daly City ...a short bus trip to downtown San Fran....and a little longer trip to Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum Arena

THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES, :0074

"The Big O" and my Cincinnati Royals, broadcast on 700 WLW, thank you Old School, I know a 13 year old kid that used to catch some of those games:mj07:

That same 13 year old kid was born on the day that basketball history was made in Indiana, when Milan beat Muncie, after beating Oscar Robertson's team a few days earlier.

IF some of reading don't know about that game you have probably watched the hollywood version "Hoosiers"

Bobby Plump said "I think he was the best player I ever saw."

GSP beats both of em.

GSP better hope that Chris Tucker isn't sitting ringside when he fights Silva, or he'll be hearing this when he comes to.
