Weird that I am 20 games below 500, yet up almost 4 dollars. Thank the Lord for CBB ML's:toast:
One Play - All In - Risking $381 to win $350
Vols ML -108
First off, most that know me on this board know that I am far from a "homer". I remember the first two rounds of the pre-season NIT winning a shat load of money betting against UT. I also took Bama and Miss. State on the ML when they came to the Tommy Bowl.
I will give you some reasons why I love this play, but first, going "all in" on this team is stupid. I know that. I don't bet the tourneys much and wouldn't have played this much cbb if I didn't win all that money earlier in the year. However, I am going to be watching these idiots play, so why not?
I have said on here, and believe, this is Pearl's last game at The Tommy Bowl. I think he will resign at the end of the year, whenever that may be. That will save him, and hopefully the program, the embarrassment of the NCAA penalties. When you have a show cause allegation, me thinks he gets two years or a year and a half plus time served.
His son and five other seniors are playing their last game at home. Add the fact that Hopson and Harris might go as well, and I think the fans know this might be the last time a big game is played at home for a while. Oh, and not to mention the fact that yesterday, the Vols were a #5 seed in the East, and with a win today, they jump to #2, and a first round bye. I sort of agree with Thunder that it is not that big of a deal, but it will be to the fans and that will make a difference.
Pearl questioned the team's leadership after the loss to Miss. State last week, and PG Melvin Goins fired back by saying:
?I don?t agree with that ? well, I do agree ? from the top all the way down, you know,?? Goins said. ?So if that?s what (Pearl) says, that?s what it is, a lack of leadership.
?I?m talking about whoever is in a leadership position . . . since the beginning of the year, it?s been a struggle within our team,?? Goins said. ?Going through the situations we?ve faced is a tough thing to do.??
I think a shat load of honesty came out in Sunday's meeting room, and Pearl acknowledged that fact earlier in the week.
My thought's on Pearl are this:
He is the best thing that ever happened to UT basketball,
AND
He is a lying, selfish, piece of sh*t. That damn Jimmy Swaggart press conference he had at the beginning of the season made me want to puke. I would have fired his ass right there, but UT has a puzzy for an AD, and Hamilton knows that Pearl is his only hope. That dumbass hiring of Kiffy boy should have done him in, but Pearl's run in the dance kept him alive.
I think the players come out today and play with no pressure whatsoever and we see a little more uptempo old school Pearl basketball pressuring UsucKs guards. Even though UT's play at home has been pathetic, it is still not as bad as UK's road record.
Vols are 3-4 vs SEC at home
UsucK are 1-6 vs SEC on the road
