the lakers - 8.5 second half the same as THE LAKERS + 5.5 for the game ? They were down by 14.

hmmmmm lets see I already had the KINGS +8.5 ( I buy 1 point, as I see these things land too close or right on the number a lot).

Now I can come back and play the LA LAKERS + 5.5 (-8.5 2nd half @ pinnacle). 14 points are a dream in my opinion. LAKERS 5.5 point home dogs ??? WHAT ???

man oh man what a sweet shot, I sit back and collect the cash.

NOW before you tar and feather me for this insight after the fact think about what I am saying here.

DID I have a sure winner with KINGS + 8.5, yes it sure looked that way, and I didn't think the lakers would want to blow em out IF they did stage the imaculate comeback. But I did think they would make a comeback and fight for their life on their home court!

DID I expect them to win NOPE ! But figured it would be very close
now I guess the correct school of thought is the winner also covers. I don't play that way I hedge all the time. Grind, grind, grind, out a profit.

AND IF, I had the KINGS on the ML I would not have made this play at all.

Just another way to look at the situation from the other side of the tracks. I play to put myself in these very situations.

G/L to all

I thought that was a fairly easy call myself. When I started reading everyone was on the kings big, I questioned myself.

But not for long. I don't know the percentage, but from memory I really liked the situation. Home team favored to win game, home team needs game more. Home team outplayed opponent last half of the 2nd quarter. Linesmakers at halftime no longer asking home team to win game. Toss in the fact that home team is the Lakers, who have made a habit of this during the regular season and the playoffs.

Generally, home favs down at half and not being asked to win the game with the 2nd half line is a pretty good bet in my experience.

Given your scenario, the only thing I would add is that the sure thing was a sure thing.....the second half wager was not a sure thing, therefore many people would have wagered less on the 2nd half so that if you miss the middle, you still cash.

I usually don't look at things that way. Each wager is completely seperate and stands on it's own merit. If you bet small on kings and felt strongly about lakes for the 2nd, you shouldn't be hamstrung by the first bet.

Anyway.......you made a wise decision and it paid. Very nice.
