Sorry to steal your thunder BDB, but I just took a look at the next to be eliminated lines, and had to seek some early opinions.

Currently at dsi, melinda is +180 to go home while blake is -175. :scared Now, last week according to dialidol, a website that goes off of busy signals to determine the vote-getting, blake and jordin were WAYYYYY ahead of NO NECK melinda and BIG FAT MOMMA lakisha. 50% ahead. Now if EVERYBODY who votes for Lakweesha votes for melinda I will have a problem. No way that happens. NOOOOOOOO WAY. The only way I get screwed is if the producers pull a Sanjaya and rig the votes(read on) or if Blake trips while he's beatboxing and punctures a lung. In my handicapping of this event, I say that the Blaker girls keep Blake around. people love him.I also think the producers want to keep him instead of Melinda -- they know he will be a jillion times more interesting, and will sell a jillion times more records. They even made it look like he was in the bottom 2 vote getters this week... presumably to scare his fan base into voting NEXT WEEK. i still can't understand why the motherfunkers trashed his performances last week. They were actually pretty damn good, after listening again. I think he's the man. And I think getting + money on Melinda going home is way too tempting in this situation.

I would love to hear any opinions

Just a personal opinion but Blake is way too gay looking of late. No neck Melinda is probably the best pure singer and very consistent and appears to be able to handle any type of genre. Jordin has the best look but is not consistent. My vote would go to Melinda. Just my opinion.

WHAT? you thought the faux tuxedo shirt was gay? What's wrong with you? :)

lots of reasons to vote for melinda. I just don't think that she is getting the vote totals or has the fan base that blake does.

Honestly think it could be any of them winning it all, depends on song choice and category at this point, IMO. If Blake has free reign to choose whatever he wants, he should be in good shape. Also think Jordin has the pizzazz to do well, and probably more support.

Sticking to my original final two of Blake and Jordin, but any of the three could do it, I think. Melinda can dazzle vocally/sylistically, if she can do a ballad and something Tina Turner like.

Good luck, but don't think it's a given. I really think that if the producers controlled things completely, as you suggest, Taylor would not have won last season. Although the thing is, they may want to create an Idol in Melinda, knowing that the other two can probably excel and sell records for them without winning. Something to think about.

Blake sucks.

As for dialidol, it doesnt account for text messages which are more and more of the vote. Iit just isnt all that reliable any longer.

Although the thing is, they may want to create an Idol in Melinda, knowing that the other two can probably excel and sell records for them without winning.

Only the winner signs with simon cowells company. chris daughtry, katherine mcphee, clay aike, ellito yamin, and all the other runner ups who have had success, american idol doesn't get a penny of their record sales. it is certainly in their best interest to try and have the winner be marketable.

as for dial idol its been horrible all year due to producer discretion at throwing out votes in lump sums. there was an article on this earlier in the year in which producers had free reign to not count certain votes they deemed computer manipulated.

i agree with sun that there are plenty of teeny bopper text messages that you have no idea what they are doing.

peteyboy-

the only thing i can pretty much guarantee you is that jordin will be in the finals. who here contestant is i don't know. if i had to guess, i would guess blake because hes different and a demographic all his own. but jordin will be there for sure so if you have enough money you can scalp -175 and + 180.

First off, thanks for everybody's input.

Second. The judges' song choices for the contestants are now up.

Blake is singing "Roxanne" - a tough song, but he could rock the snot out of it. CHosen by Paula

Melinda is singing "I believe in you and Me" by whitney houston. Weak. Go home. Chosen by Randy.

Jordin is singing "Wishing on a Star" by Rose Royce. An old '70s soul ballad. Kinda boring. Chosen by Simon.

I think these song choices favor Blake even if he has the toughest task of the 3. I think it will either be hit or miss. But if he hits it, he's gonna knock it out of the park.

Third, dialidol has been imprecise this year at best, but at no point has someone they predicted to be safe NOT been safe. And the statistical difference between Jordin/Blake and Lakisha/Melinda was massive. When Kat caught Elliot Yamin last year in the round of 3, the dial idol results were MUCH MUCH closer. Just food for thought.

Also now Blake is -250 to go home, and Melinda is +215. Someone bet the crap out of Blake to go home. Sun Tzu? So there's no chance for a scalp anymore BDB, but a .05 scalp would have required big $$ anyways and a book that would be willing to take your big $$.

The line movement is a little bit nerve-wracking, but I stand by my prediction, especially at longer odds than I would have expected(but hell, melinda's been the favorite all season) and we really will know a whole lot more when we see the performances. Have a good weekend.

Roxanne" is a hit song by the rock band The Police, first released in 1978 as a single and on their album Outlandos d'Amour.

[edit] History
Police lead singer Sting wrote the song, inspired by the prostitutes he saw near the band's seedy hotel while in Paris, France in October 1977 to perform at the Nashville Club. The title of the song comes from the name of the character in the play Cyrano de Bergerac, an old poster of which was hanging in the hotel foyer.

Sting had originally conceived the song as a bossa nova, although he credits Police drummer Stewart Copeland for suggesting its final rhythmic form as a tango. During recording, Sting accidentally sat down on a piano keyboard in the studio, resulting in the atonal piano chord and laughter preserved at the beginning of the track. The Police were initially diffident about the song, but Miles Copeland III was immediately enthusiastic after hearing it, becoming their manager and getting them their first record deal with A&M Records. The single did not chart at first, but it was re-released in April 1979 and reached #12 in the UK and #32 in the U.S., and went on to become one of the classic Police songs as well as a staple of Sting's performances during his solo career.

Rolling Stone ranked it #388 on their list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time.

This was also the appropriately first song the band performed live (at the 2007 Grammy Awards) to kick off their 30th Anniversary Reunion Tour

I Believe in You and Me

I Believe In You And Me" is a 1996 song by R&B/Pop singer Whitney Houston, and was the first single from the soundtrack to the film The Preacher's Wife.

[edit] Song information
Written by Sandy Linzer and David Wolfert, "I Believe In You And Me" was originally recorded by The Four Tops in 1982. Fourteen years later, Whitney Houston's cover of the song peaked at number one on Billboard's Hot 100 singles chart, and number nine on the United World Chart.

..note...Jennifer Hudson Wildcard night of American Idol 3 sang this as well.

"Wishing on a Star" is a 1978 hit single by Rose Royce for Whitfield Records. Included on their second album, Rose Royce II: In Full Bloom, "Wishing on a Star" is a slow ballad written by Billie Rae Calvin (formerly of Whitfield Records act The Undisputed Truth) and produced by Norman Whitfield. The lyrics concern a woman longing for the return of an ex-lover so that they can resume their relationship.

The original version of "Wishing on a Star" was not a big hit, peaking at number fifty-two on the Billboard R&B charts in the United States. The Full Bloom album, however, was successful as a whole. It got renewed exposure when it was featured in the 2001 John Singleton film, Baby Boy.

"Wishing on a Star" has frequently been covered by other singers, including notable versions by:

Teena Marie
early British rave act Fresh Four (featuring future drum-and-bass star Krust)
The Cover Girls, a hit for Paul Weller in 2004
Miriam Stockley for the film soundtrack of The 10th Kingdom
as a duet between Henry Iglesias and Ronee Martin for Catman Cohen's How I Want to Die: the Catman Chronicles 1 (2005)
Beyonc? for the 2005 feature film Roll Bounce (which was nominated for "Best Female R&B Vocal Performance" in 2006)
New Zealand born singer-songwriter Bic Runga on her album Live in Concert: with the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra

There is only one star here and its Jordan and if she could just lose 40lbs she would be. This is either a huge woman or Seacrest is 5 ft 2. I listen to Jordans last song in the last show about 10 times and still can't figure out what was wrong with it. This girl would be a complete piece of ass if she just dropped the weight and kept her hair straight. Stevie i know you see those little cute faces she makes.
If I was a judge and in next years auditions its time to let people go who don't have the look. I mean if you come in looking like a slob you are out. If this is something you always wanted in life come in at least a little decent shape.

Any new info on song choices/styles/themes for tonight? It's a whole new level of pressure now...we'll see what these kids are made of tonight. I hope they have the freedom on the other two songs to pick what they want.

and Jordin has received a makeover team from FOX, makeup, wardrobe, dietician, the whole 9 yards

this is all via Howard Stern News team who is investigating the voting.......last week the source had said Lakisha had the biggest camera crew at her home before the show aired along with her plane ticket booked (take it with a grain of salt)

I don't watch the show after the gag acts are over, but if you are currently watching you might want to check your own masculinity :s8:

I believe Clay Aiken won this a few years back and he is queer as they come

Not that there is anything wrong with that but the gag acts are the gayest part of the show.:scared

no idea of performance order. each contestant singing a personal choice, judges choice, and clive davis producer choice. as posted earlier, these are confirmed:

Jordin singing "wishing on a star" chosen by simon and her personal song choice is I who have nothing which she already sang for british night but she's reworking it.

no idea who clive picked for her

Blake singing Roxanne by the police chosen by paula.

either his choice or clives is a maroon 5 song. no idea what....don't know much about them.

Melinda singing i believe in you and me by whitney houston chosen by randy.

no idea about the rest

current positions:

50 shares of jordin
50 shares of blake

added play:

melinda to go home +247 x 3

her time is done. when she leaves tomorrow, gonna sell my blakes which should jump to the mid 30s and just keep my jordins to the finish line.

gl....even all the naysayers with homophobia. isn't this a gambling board.

No thanks. I'll stick with sports, poker, and investments. I guess I'll research your record and your current wagers- do you know how many units you are up this season? Good luck girls

Always cracks me up when people brush off something with the "gayness" blast, that don't really experience what they are bashing. To each their own, for sure, but don't understand bashing others who enjoy something for their own personal reasons. Whatever...

BDB has been money when it has come to Idol betting - I'll vouch for that. We watch the show as a family...kind of a family time compromise, and there is less and less of that these days.

As for Blake doing a Maroon 5 Song, that is exactly what I had hoped for for his sake. Something contemporary and hip, and that is the hippest pop bad around right now. Their new single is a really great pop song (read: gay, for those that don't know about it...yawn), and if he does that one or their last big hit, it should be money for him - and you, BDB.

I play poker for a living. Have for over 10 years. Support a family and child. Never worked a real job a day in my life. Do sports gambling on the side for extra income. Its well documented. I've posted a record with everything on here. Over 100 units winner in basketball 2 seasons ago, over 80 this year. Losing a bit in the playoffs this year. Win consistently at bases and football, and have posted over 15k in winners in american idol the last 3 years.

What the fck do you do?

Are you tired of working for the man? Don't take it out on me.

Get back from lunch, your boss is calling you. and don't forget to go fck yourself.
