when I sent a good friend of mine Snopes take on "one of those" emails he had sent me......

I have my reservations on Snopes, we really don't know who controls
the site. Not all things are verbatim but I have heard Pelosi speak
of such things. There will always be condensed versions of anyones
speech and at any time these politicians are all over the place with
their topics, I don't think they remember what they say, and it can be
interpreted to be something different than what they meant to say, or
they speak so in-general about a topic so to give them wiggle room to
change their position.

How about the "fairness doctrine"...? Heard about that one? By Nancy
Pelosi some how that is not on Snopes but it is indeed a fact. "Any
talk radio that has anything to do with religion would have to give
equal time to an atheist (in a nutshell)?? Why is it you can't find
anything relating to that on Snopes? Makes you wonder. I think every
web site has an agenda I trust none I look at every web site with a
slightly raised eye. Bob

this was what his email was based on.....

I always wonder why people like your friend Bob are quick to discredit sources like Snopes, while faithfully following the words of a source others prove to be BS. My Dad buys into a lot of the right-wing radio stuff, and has a hard time believing any story that refutes the loudmouths. Weird.....or rather, a form of biased opinion known as confirmation bias. You look for stories that confirm your own beliefs and discredit those that don't.

So, "Bob" still believes that Pelosi would like to tax stock market gains 100%? It sounds like his understanding on the fairness doctrine came entirely through email as well.

He probably shouldn't have access to a computer and shouldn't be allowed to operate heavy machinery.

He's paid to carry a gun here for our fair city :mj07:

He's actually a really good guy but has a large "void" when it comes to this political stuff. I really think both of you guys would like him if you met him.

Every Bob I know has some odd habits.

This sounds like a great way to rationalize belief in bullshit stories rather than go for truth.

Give Elgin a try!

:00hour

We're quite happy in Westerville, OH. I'm sure Elgin is a fine place to live, but this little town on the NE corner of C-Bus is pretty frickin nice. The bike paths weave all around town. There is a little college in the middle of the old neighborhood. The mall is brand new and the old downtown is walking distance from the house. Our neighborhood has 6 green spaces and 2 ponds.

You and HH should look at one of the houses for sale in the hood. Place is awesome.

Elgin's a wonderful place for those who respect the law. . . and for those that belong to the Vicelords or the Latin Kings
