the angels were mauled by the mariners in an ugly four game sweep at edison field last week -$400, continuing a familiar pattern from the 2001 season[ only 4-15 -$920 in head to head play] seattle 's team ba is almost 90 points higher than anaheim's and their pitching looks solid. they should do no worse than 2 out of 3 in this matchup.

I can't believe how pitiful Anaheim's hitting is. I don't get to see them too often, but other than Garrett Anderson, nobody's been hitting on this team:

Erstad 62 AB 2 2B 0 HRs
Fullmer 52 AB 3 2B 0 HRs
Salmon 60 AB 3 2B 0 HRs
Molina 53 AB 3 2B 0 HRs
Spezio 44 AB 1 HR
Glaus 1 HR in last 10 games.

You're dead on about the "familiar pattern".I saw or listened to all but six Mariner games starting the beginning of last year thru this season to date and I play the Mariners almost exclusively.(I'm supposed to be taking the summers off from 'capping, but I'm forced to watch and listen to all Mariner games by "her" and realized early in April last year that I was watching something very special.Maybe not the most talented team but they are very well balanced offensively, have great pitching, love to run, play unreal D and more than any baseball team I've ever seen, they HATE to lose.Nine or ten come back victories already this year. They're not gonna lose to Texas or Anaheim more than a handful of times unless injuries bite 'em.Gl with your plays and your Picks for Pay venture!
